Comment:
I liked Koehler overall. He did what he could to make classes interesting and engaging, given the notoriously dry nature of intro statistics classes. There are plenty of practice problems provided, which I'd highly recommend doing if you want to do well in the course. Tests are all extremely fair, and if you go to tutorials you should be fine.

Not helpful at all, learned more from a tutor than I did from the lectures or TAs. If you're not strong with math, you may have difficulty as I found a lot of the course was teaching myself.

Unique seminar course compared to others: discussions based around research proposals we wrote every week (changing one thing about a study and how it would improve our understanding of the field). Taught us to think and speak like a psychologist and exercised this on a weekly basis. Gave us feedback weekly.

He is a great guy with lots of knowledge and experience behind his shoulders. however, the lectures are sooooo dull that i dont even know how to describe it. my tip to you guys is to focus more on practice test he gives you. problems of the same kind will be on a test

Tests are so difficult but there are easy weekly assignments that boost your mark. Lectures are dry and the lecture slides were not helpful at all. I learned more about the material by going to the tutorials. The TA's do an awesome job explaining concepts in the tutorials. I learned the most from the tutorials and the online textbook.

For tests - practice the problem sets over and over again - way more helpful than the practice tests. For the final, don't waste too much time on the cheat sheet, focus on practicing all the problem sets over and over again. Lectures purely conceptual, tutorials super helpful, because you learn how to solve questions that are on the testsfinal.

Really liked him, he was extremely organized and tried really hard to keep class interest with demos. It's a shame not many people attend.

It is really easy to get a good mark on the unit tests as long as you know how to do the tutorial questions. He is not the most enthusiastic guy, but he explains the content relatively well. One thing to be noted is the exceptional organization of the powerpoint slides. I find the FREE online textbook to be useful, fun and makes readings a snap.

I feel bad for him. He's an extremely nice guy, but actually trying to get people interesting in a really dull subject makes him look worse than he is. Aside from being a little monotone, I think he's really smart and his tests are more than fair. Liked this a lot more than 291.

Professor Koehler obviously has a lot of experience teaching 292 and knows what helps students understand difficult concepts. He uses lots of examples and the sample quizzes are invaluable study material. As long as you put in the effort, you will do well.

This course is easy, all the assignment answers are given to you ahead of the due date and the assignments are only graded on completion (an easy 10%). As long as you study a little bit and understand the concept, you will do well in the course. He does everything he can to make people do well including an open book final!

Good prof, definitely knows what he's talking about. He tries to keep the class interesting with in-class demos and experiments, but I found he sometimes had difficulty explaining concepts clearly. The quizzes and exam are fair, though - just study hard and you should do alright.

He is extremely smart, sometimes hard to understand and boring to listen to at times... However, he is extremely organized which is definately a good thing. He gives you the tests from the past 3 years, so you can practice and all the slides ahead of time. Without that, i probabaly wouldn't have gotten the marks I did. He puts alot of effort in. :)

Did his best to teach such a boring subject. Yet, I found this class pretty easy if you attend all his classes and all the tut sessions! Make sure you understand how to do the practice quizzes given on ACE, you should be fine with this course! Overall, great course! Not difficult to get a high mark if you try hard.

I was dissappointed. Concepts were scattered. 'Practice' quizzes are given but are much easier than the real ones, so it does give one a feeling of false readiness. I liked Dr.Koehler on a personal level, he was very nice, and he did post lecture notes. It was a brutal course for most of us.
