Professor Cortina is a good man. He's funny, quirky, and really cares for his students. His class consists of a lot of writing assignments, but they're mainly tedious and are not hard at all. For this online system, we had five essays that he gave plenty of time to write. When doing assignments, make sure that you do it. He actually reads all of it

Professor Cortina is quirky, but he cares about his students. There are a couple essays throughout the course, but if you follow the directions given, you will get a good grade. Best English Professor I've had so far.

He assigns a lot of work and also really looks into your answers for your assignment so don't put random answers in your homework. But he's hilarious and I have never even met him since my class was asynchronously online. He's probably one of my favorite teachers because of his attitude. His assignment is the usual, nothing too hard or easy.

He's a great guy to interact with, a real gem. I'm really sad that I can't take more of his classes. His assignments are enjoyable, but some are tedious because it's a bit of writing. There's five essays, but he tells you ahead of time and makes you write a rough draft beforehand. As long as you write, you're golden for this class.

Prof. Cortina was amazing. The work assigned was not very difficult and was actually enjoyable. This class never gave me any stress, and I feel that it improved some of my English skills. His weekly units are all very interesting, easy to complete, and he gives feedback on all assignments. I would definitely take a class w/ him again if I could.

I did not get an A because of some missing assignments that I thought I turned in, but its ok. He is really funny, and the essays you will write are on topics that I have never seen presented in an English class really. It was a fun writing class, that made me interested in writing again. Just make sure to double check what you have turned in.

Please do yourself a favor and get this professor for English! He is super chill and the workload is manageable. There is a final essay, but no final exam! Also just get the online pdf of the Norton guide instead of actually buying it from the bookstore.

There are no tests but lots of essays and worksheets! However, they're all easy except the essay. My finals essay was the only time I got over 90% as every other essays were B. I thought the class was fun and he'd introduce topics you've never thought about and write about it. I'm horrible with English overall but hey! I got an A! That says a lot!

Most of the class was just doing worksheets on assigned reading homework. Very boring, but great for getting out of class early if u did the reading and have fast handwriting. Had 4 essays, I didn't spend too much time on them but got at least a B+ on all of them. Pretty chill dude, got to leave early every time. Essays weren't too bad.

The workload is heavy and he is a tough grader on the essays. The essay length was not too bad but there was about 5 essays with boring prompts. Otherwise, really cool teacher and gives good feedback on your essays.

Most of the time you are let out early. Best english professor i have ever had in my career. Makes the class a lot better and his jokes put a smile on your face. Showing up is necessary cause he gives you worksheets in class. I hate english, he made it a lot better to take. Don't rely on extra credit, there is none. Take him, you'll thank me later

Cortina is an amazing teacher! His lectures are very short, but understandable. Always willing to help you any time. Assigns a decent amount of work, but never too much to stress you out. He does not give extra credit. Also, he will give your work back right away within the weekends.

Coolest professor in CPP! Compared to the amount of work the average cpp english professor makes you do, this is way lighter. He is so chill and will let you out early every time. Accessible at all times for questions or help! No final, instead you write an essay about a controversial topic. if you have a chance to take him, take him! He is funny!

He is so laid back, it makes you lay back. I took him at Norco and this is my second time taking him. I did not try and I earned a B. He doesn't mind late work, labs aren't a big deal, and there is group work all/most of the time. Literally about 5 essays, all relatable. Gives a lot of options/topics for each essay(:Can get away w/out buying book.

Took Cortina at Norco. One of the most laid back and easy going professors ever. Likes to joke, is friendly and helpful. Hardly any homework, class consisted of writing five essays. I enjoyed his class so much, I am currently in his ENG 1A class.

I hate typing papers and he made it so much easier. We'd watch videos and he let us out early most of the time. I missed one class and didn't do a worksheet thus dropping my grade a bit so yeah attendance counts, though he helps you if you ask for the work on missed days.I loved this class so much I'm not going to take any other eng prof for ENG105.
