Comment:
Zeroth law of problem solving is read the question. Zeroth law of being a good math prof is to be like Professor Small in some aspect. Teaches you how to solve rather than what to solve and how to cheat for a good grade. Mind you his philosophy is to give exams so that even if you memorized the entire solution, you still fail without understanding

He is amazing. Very smart. He does not like answering questions but prefers students find the solutions on their own. Exam is fair.

Spectacular professor, excellent teaching skills, and highly entertaining. Only concern is that he sometimes dabbles on trivial topics a bit too long, and doesn't reiterate the more complicated topics strongly enough (although he takes questions very well, so be sure to ask if you have questions!)

Comment:
The textbook he uses is a collection of problems and half of the class is spent on discussing how to solve those problems. And it's actual discussion, with prof and students talking back and forth. He also sometimes let students to solve these problems. Teaching style is very different from other prof but I really enjoyed it.

Comment:
He uses a rather easy textbook (A probability path) and does not go into details much further than the textbook. So, if you want to get a good mark but not learn a lot, he's the man! About the exams: Usually all the questions of the midterms are from a rather short list of problems he has provided in the class. Final exam is a bit tougher.

5 tests through out the term, no final. So 1 test every 2 weeks, have to review all the time. He requires a textbook that used by graduate study, have to read and do the problems on the textbook for his tests, harder than other prof.

Comment:
A bit pretentious. As much as stupid questions in class annoy me a lot, I do not think professors should be pointing out student's stupidity in front of everybody in a rather obvious way. Besides that, very knowledgeable prof but with little desire to share that knowledge during lectures.

Very simple class - literally answer all 180 questions he gives you and you will get 100% (if you answer them correctly). Always helpful and gives hints when you ask. Lectures very funny and informative. All in all great experience! Thank you Professor Small.

18 people showed up in the lecture and 90 people showed up in the exam. I do want to like him but his bizzare behaviors in the class and teaching style are just not for me.
