Comment:
Prof Onyeiwu is an engaging lecturer. The workload is typical and it's what you'd expect from a business class. If you understand the main concepts, apply them, and use examples, you will get a good grade.

I didnt mind Steve. He tries to be engaging. In all honesty he is kind of an unfair grader and is really tough about attendance. Work hard in the class and youll be fine, wouldnt recommend to first years tho. Hes discouraging in a way that when people have him, they dont want to be econ majors anymore. But, nice guy

Excellent and funny professor; one of the best Ive had at Allegheny. Hes a fair grader. Holds students to high standards, but always there to assist. Students with mental health issues are supposed to contact the Counseling Center for help, and not expect professor onyeiwu to give them a grade they dont deserve.

he's an unfair grader. if he doesn't like you very much, he'll grade you tougher than the students he likes, which brings your grade down. also, I think he doesn't really understand students when it comes to mental health issues. he tries to be funny though.

Comment:
Steve is one of the most compassionate professors Ive had at Allegheny. When I was ill, he allowed me to take a make-up exam and submit assignments late. In fairness to Professor Onyeiwu, hes an economist and not a psychiatrist. His job is to teach economics, which he excels at doing, and not to assess the effect of mental heath on student life.

Comment:
Steve is a very knowledgeable guy in economics. He knows a lot. But he doesn't communicate the lectures very well. Teach it to yourself. Also, he isn't very understanding on mental health issues if it affects your school work which it usually does. The reviews for tests are usually opposite of the tests. Also, he doesn't give extra help on tests.

One of the smartest individuals I have ever met, period. While his availability can be sparse at times (likely due to being the department head at the time) he will always be helpful if you ask for assistance. His lectures are engaging and content-filled, and he goes far beyond the normal textbook knowledge. Take him for sure if you go to Allegheny

Professor Onyeiwu was incredible. He kept class interesting and engaging throughout the semester. He had weekly quizzes to verify that students were doing the readings. He gave a midterm and a final exam, 5-7 essay questions each that were difficult, but fair. Highly recommend him.

He is very smart and knows a lot about econ. He really cares about how well you do, and there isn't too much work for this class. He teaches right out of the textbook and makes powerpoint slides of his lectures. Its an easy enough class if you attend.

He was a great teacher for FS, but not helpful in any way with advising. He forced me to drop an extra course because he thought I needed more time to relax. But then again...maybe I missed the real message of college-partying on weekends and watching tv or going to the gym for a couple hours during the week? It was only a little over 20 credits...maybe it was because I'm a sciences major and not in humanities. Make sure if you're a major in natural sciences or even psychology, you declare-fast.

He seemed ok at first but the more I got to know Steve the more he turned my stomach. He is very two faced person. This school could provide us with a better teacher than this(Not Duman). As a side note, on the day of student teacher evaluations he mysteriously disappeared in his office with evaluations for about 20 mins. Hum interesting Steve.

This guy/class it a waste of time. Unfair grading is an understatement. Plus he doesnt know ANY of Alleghenys policies. He tried assigning a test the last week of the semester, then wouldnt let us take our final out of the room he stuck us in.....hes been here long enough to know the rules.

A lazy teacher when it comes to returning assignments and grades. Yes, he must stop talking about the Tool & Die Industry. It's not that I dont care but 5 times a class and every example he states deals with the Tool & Die Industry. There's more to economics then the Tool & Die Industry. Oh yeah, he's a unfair grader.
