Professor Almallah is easily one of the best professors that I've had at GV. His organization format is straightforward, his classes are fun, and he's great at explaining things. Highly recommend taking a class with him!

Honestly, a great class to take. I definitely learned a lot and the class wasn't too time-consuming. It's asynchronous, but he posts weekly lectures. One paper and weekly discussion posts. My only complaint is that the quizzes could be a bit difficult. It's helpful if you get in touch with your classmates (there's a group project too).

LOVE PROF AL-MALLAH. Probably my favorite professor by far. Lots of reading and participation and the tests aren't easy, but it's an enjoyable class and he's the cutest. Trying to find another class to take just to have him again!! :)

Had him for an online class and it was a HORRIBLE experience. He offers no zoom classes or office hours so all your information is from reading the textbook or watching random videos. Can tell he puts little to no effort into actually teaching the class. Quizzes are also pretty difficult and his review questions are not helpful for them.

Al-Mallah is a good prof with an understanding and passion for his subjects. A LOT of reading and you should def go to class if you want to understand it. However, it is very interesting and he ties it together very well. He is happy to help you outside of class. The group paper kind of sucks; go into his office hours as much as you need.

Easy, fun class, great professor! He's funny and helpful, and participation matters, as this is a language class.

Professor Al-Mallah was great! He's very funny and really connects to his students. His class involved a lot of participation (as a language course should!) and he was consistently supportive and kind. The textbook is used very often for his Arabic 101 class, but I think the same textbook is used all the way through 202.

He is an amazing professor and you could tell he cares about his students. Hes very helpful outside of class as well. A lot of the class was discussion based and participation is important. Some of the readings were boring and difficult but the discussion was always interesting. We wrote a paper instead of doing a final.

He's an excellent professor. The class I took involved a great deal of class discussion and participation is a large part of your grade. He is also helpful in giving feedback about papers and quizzes and is easy to meet with outside of class.

Al-Mallah is an awesome professor, and really cares about the success of his students. The class is very tough, and he grades pretty hard. He expects a lot of you and some of the sections are pretty boring. He only gave my class a final paper instead of an exam. Overall, he is a great professor but the material can be tough/boring sometimes.

Professor Al-Mallah has a great personality and is super into poetry, and overall is a great teacher. His class has easy readings but grading on quizzes can be tough, so really pay attention to lectures and do all the readings. Participation is also a big grade, so try to contribute a few times a week.

Really good professor with a sense of humor. The class is very discussion based and participation can affect your grade a lot. He really likes his poetry and assigns a lot of readings, but the tests and quizzes are based off of mostly class discussions

Good professor, very nice and very active. Only complaint is he's not clear on what he expects, which makes papers and quizzes difficult. Participation grades fairly, talk once a day and get an easy A.

Majd is a great professor, he knows what he's talking about and really wants to make sure you understand the material. Tests and quizzes are difficult, requires a lot of time and effort in order to receive a good grade. He has readings do for every class- get ready to read!

Decent professor I just was not very interested in the material. He does not really get to points during lecture/discussion, but his exams are fair at the same time. A ton of reading especially second semester.

Al-Mallah is a really kind professor. He cares about his students. However the Islamic Middle East sequence is INCREDIBLY difficult. I don't know of a single student in the entire class who completed all of the assigned readings. Some students would pull all-nighters to try to finish, and would end up sleeping through class from exhaustion.

Any honors class is going to challenge and engage you. I was not trilled when I was informed this was going to be my honors sequence but I am SO happy this is where I ended up. Prof Al-Mallah is so adorable and makes this class was so fun and interesting.

Probably the worst professor I've had so far. If you don't talk excessively during class, you're done for. If you don't do things his way, you're done for. Grades things off a seemingly nonexistent rubric.

Majd is an outstanding Prof. He keeps things light and is very fun to learn from. Majd understands the material that he presents and effectively relays it to his students. I have thoroughly enjoyed working with Majd this semester ... and he's completely adorable.
