I took her class almost twenty years ago and I still remember the satisfaction I felt when I finally earned an A- on a paper. I am an English teacher now and I try to guide my students the way she led me with my writing. (By the way, she would hate the previous sentence.) The class is hard, but you will learn valuable skills.

I honestly feel 99% of the students in her class would be better instructors than her. She doesn't even grade most of the assignments, or even know what they entail, instead relying on the computer to do the scoring, even on writing assignments, which means students have to plagiarize on the homework assignments for the computer to pass them.

This is one of the WORST professors I have ever had! Multiple times in class, the students had to correct her mistakes while she was lecturing even though she was reading directly from the textbook. I am unsure how that was even possible, honestly! She was unclear about assignments and graded UNFAIRLY!!!! DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR!!!!!!!

This teacher forces you to buy a super expensive book and access code. She reads to you from the book during the entire class and puts you on the spot by calling out your last name to answer questions! It felt like military school! At the end of the semester she gives a MASSIVE group project that she is unclear about! She's inconsistent and unfair!

Metzger is the worst professor I think I've ever had. IF YOU HAVE HER DROP NOW. She doesn't address the class until 20 minutes after class begins, she expects you to learn on your own, and she calls last names from the role to answer questions in lieu of teaching. Your grade is based on 6 tests and a presentation. Avoid at all costs. Seriously.

Dr Metzger stands at the front of the room, doesn't address the class, and makes you purchase a $150 book for an access code that's unnecessary considering everything could be transferred to Canvas for free. Students answer 130 questions per class instead of the professor teaching anything. I DO NOT recommend Metzger as a professor at all.

Took over 2 months to grade some items, mainly large projects. When you try and reach her about it she gives you attitude, as if your concern is bothersome to her. Some of her grading is fair, other times it feels like she is just grabbing a random number. When asked for reasons behind the grade, she avoids the questions.

Do NOT take this class if you have the option. Teacher grades primarily on online quizzes which you can only take once, are incredibly hard and you only have 1-2 days to take the quizzes. Dr. Metzger grades really harshly especially if you do not do it in her format which she changes frequently or does not give us examples. Lectures are boring.

READ because literally everyone has to answer a question in class. Easy class but the book is super expensive compared to the other LIN4671 professor's book. She's super nice and adorable but she gets confused easily. Your grade basically depends on attendance, tests, and group projects. There is a tests every 2 chapters but they're not hard.

Dr. Metzger likes to give an outrageous amount of work, espically in groups. In class she often contradicts herself, getting the class/herself confused. The lack of instruction makes her assigments a lot hardet then they should be. Nothing is clear cut in this class. Her grading is beyond harsh. She will chew up your papers for individuality.

She is super nice and sweet. I was sick and missed two tests, and she took 50 percent off. Still got a C. Very easy, just pay attention and come to class. For the projects just about everyone got 100s.

I liked Metzger. The biggest problem I had with her class was that there was only about 24-48 hours to do online tests 6x the semester. I missed two because of work, as I work long hours at times, and one class over the limit (one). She let me make them up for 50%, but it all brought my grade down from what would have been an A to a C.

There were times where she seemed knowledgeable and yet other times where you could tell she was taking information verbatim from the text. In fact, most of the class she was just reading the book. The entire class argued with her at one point because she had misunderstood a sentence in the book and was giving us incorrect info because of it.

If you're really good at grammar and writing, it's an easy A as long as you do everything assigned. Her lectures are very drawn out and she takes up most of the class time going over the textbook which she expects you to read and prepare for before class.

Easy A, but this class was complete and utter misery. Her attendance policy was 1 excused absence, -5 points which is just unreasonable. She made us read word for word every line in the textbook. She doesn't write the tests and we were expected to take them online outside of class time. This should have been offered as an online course.

Dr. Metzger is alert, brilliant, fair, & knowledgeable. You can't show up sleeping and expect to do well. Produce quality work and an A attainable. Spell check because grammar is important in this class! The course prepares you for the business world! Her final exam is difficult, but she prepares you. Apply the concepts learned and you'll do well.

Terrible "professor". There was zero facilitation of learning, and she seemed like she was going senile. She kept getting lost in the context of the book, she didn't know where the class was supposed to be either. Almost impossible to get an A unless you went to her office hours to harass her about papers . every week. She screwed me out of a B too

Dr. Metzger is extremely knowledgeable. An A is definitely attainable in this course. The course relates to "real life", and the work truly does prepare you for the business world. The final exam is difficult, however she prepares you. Assignments are weighted fairly and they are easy if you apply the concepts you learn. Overall, a GREAT professor!

Extremely knowledgeable and helpful professor! Easy A if you do the assignments. Just make sure to do spell/grammar check like 5 times she's real picky about that. As long as you have an A (which isnt hard to get if you did at least the bare minimum on assignments)before the final you should be fine because the exam almost impossible to pass.
