A great chemistry prof, cares about his student, lots of office hours, provides feedback on exams very fast, explains the material very well, and helps prepare for tests. Would 100% recommend him for this course, as this course is extremely challenging, but he truly helps you understand the basics, and gives a good background to applications.

The material seems fine at first, but the application in exams is quite the challenge. He's a charismatic and engaging professor who explains concepts well, but you have to put in the work to doing well in this course.

Great prof. One of the best I have had so far. Although exams are hard, he really helps you prepare for them and there are no surprises. Study lots, go to class and take good notes and you should be fine. Also he is very accessible outside of class.

Professor Hultin makes tackling organic chemistry a lot more bearable. He is one of the best professors I've had, however this is still a course in which you are required to put a great deal of work if you want a good grade.

Amazing professor who truly cares about his students and wants to foster their interest and curiosity in chemistry in all possible capacities. He will gladly entertain almost all questions, form lab theory, to basic course theory and chemistry questions way outside the scope of the course, he will answer them all. No surprises, just takes work.

Hultin is a great prof, lectures are great and he does a great job of explaining concepts. The midterms aren't too bad but you really have to know everything inside and out. The final is a different story- it was incredibly hard and even the sheet you get to bring in doesnt help that much. Take this course with Hultin if you can!

I loved this course! He is always willing to help students, explains concepts well. You do need to read textbook, and do a lot of practice questions. His test/exam questions are up on the internet, you can check the answers and do practice. He accepts new ideas and gives you credit if it's doable answers. He made me want to take 3rd year Orgo!

Amazing overall professor, but the final exam is absolutely mind blowing. DO NOT attempt to memorize the course. LEARN the material and PRACTICE IT! He's a great prof, but the final is not passable without studying.

You will only struggle with this course if you fail to use both the lecture notes and textbook. Read both and understand, then do problems and you will be fine. Dr. Hultin is the best prof I have ever had. It wasn't until CHEM 2220 that I developed a real appreciation for the field of chemistry. An A or A+ is attainable, just do your homework!

He's not a bad prof. He tries and is always ready and willing to answer questions. But god does he sewer you on the tests. It feels as though he purposely picks questions that he knows everyone will struggle with. It's a required course - most people aren't here for interest's sake. Give them a slight break by asking concepts not advanced details.

Hultin tries, but OCHEM 2 will kick you in the pants regardless. Such a difficult course. His explanations tend to turn into a bunch of electron drawing structure mush and eventually you just zone out and gain nothing from the lecture (or at least thats what happened to me.)

One of my favorite professors! You can tell he's definitely passionate about what he teaches, and he always has the best ways of explaining the significance of the lecture topic. Use his notes, along with 2nd language text and practice alot! NOTE: THE FINAL IS ALWAYS HARD AND WILL MAKE YOU CRY.... But "That's the nature of the beast!"

Great prof who helps to reinforce your understanding. The thing with Ochem2 is that there is so much material that it is impossible for the prof to teach it all. It is important to study the textbook and do all the questions. Rely more on the textbook than the prof. The textbook does a fantastic job at teaching everything.

The course is tough only of you don't practice. He always says that a mechanism will almost always write itself provided you follow the rules. Very enthusiastic, fun, and helpful. He knows his stuff. The chemistry department has very good to excellent professors...

Dr. Hultin not only teaches you Chemistry, but also how to think critically. Dr. Hultin loves to foster ideas in his students and you can tell he is passionate about learning (for us, and for him). Since he is quirky and funny, lectures are always enjoyable. The final was hard. The course is a hard course. You HAVE to put in the effort. Read Klein!
