he is great if you have the option to definitely take him, he wants you to get an A, gives tests that are straight from the homework and problems from class, drops the lowest test or if you have an A you do not have to take the final, if you have any backround in calc you can just show up to the tests and get an A easily

He gives 6 tests. No required homework. Attendance not mandatory. I passed because I had prior tests of his, which I reccommend you get. Also be sure to be very familiar with all of your calc skills 1-3. Got an A but definitely worked hard for it. Definitely a relief after Calc 3 though

He is a great professor. His tests are based on homework and problems done in class. He also drops your lowest test grade. He wants you to not only pass his class but to get an A. If you can definitely take his class

Good professor, great man. He teaches very well and is more than willing to answer any questions. Gives 5 tests, make an A on 4 of the 5 & you won't have to take the final. Final counts the same as a test. Need the book to work homework problems (not graded though) which are what tests are based off of. If you struggle, go see him or a tutor.

Although I absolutely loved DeSouza as a person, I couldn't understand his teaching style. I hadn't had AP Calculus in high school like many others in my class, so I was super lost. It was the hardest class I have ever taken and I would not recommend it to anyone. He was very nice and helpful if you needed him, though.

He was all over the place during lectures. Couldn't keep to the same topic for more than a couple minutes, and would jump back and forth frequently. He also had no idea when or where the labrecitation was for several weeks. In my class he also frequently confused even himself, and did a lot of examples completely wrong.

One of my favorite professors at Auburn. He always tries to keep his lectures interesting (though that's hard to do with a math class), and his tests come straight from the homework.

Goes over material with great clarity and detail, minimal proofs and lots of practical examples. His lectures are awesome. Let's you exempt the final if you get A's on all prior exams.

One of my favorite professors ever! He makes class entertaining, and his tests are very straightforward, right out the textbook. He also lets you drop your lowest test grade and exempt the final if you get all As.

He is an amazing teacher and very nice when you go to his office hours with problems. His tests are straight forward and can be slightly different from the "homeworks", as he likes to call them, but generally exactly the same. Lets you drop your lowest test. I hope that he teaches other math classes at Auburn. Take him!

I don't know why he has such a low score, all his tests are straight from the homework, yes he has an accent but if you pay attention you can understand him, makes jokes to lighten the mood, very knowledgeable, if you put in any effort at all you should get an A in this class

This is the first time ive rate a professor because hes the Best professor I've had at auburn. He does have an accent but you understand him and he bring a little humor to class with him. works problems out of the book and test come from those. He lets you drop one and replace a test with the final ..

I head a really good teacher before I had to drop that class and switch into a different time. I had never heard of him so I thought he was a brand new teacher.....turns out hes been teaching for years and is still awful at it. very confusing when teaching and when I went go to talk to him he just said: oh well we did that in class, where were you?

writes small, hard to understand at first. do the hw religiously and you'll do fine on the test. grading/partial credit is sporatic and he won't explain his methods or reasoning behind it. drops lowest test but the final is much much harder than the other test so dont expect to make up your grade at the end.

Brilliant, friendly guy, however if you are not math- or engineer-minded this class is hard. His GTA, who taught for half the semester, was intelligent but condescending. Requires intense homework/practice. Thick accent takes getting used to. Highlight of class? Being exempt from the final for all A's on tests, so STUDY HARD and it will pay off.

THIS DUDE IS TERRIBLE AT TEACHING and gradin tests! terrible givin partial credit. he writes small and cant understand what the heck he says (no logic). He gives hw but not for grade. Basically you teach yourself everything, use cramster and practice problems. Problems are moderate. 5 tests, drops lowest! Some test questions are from hw!

Worst teacher I have ever had at Auburn, could not understand a single thing he wrote or said. I only went to class to know when the tests were and what the homework is. He will make the class much harder than it needs to be. GO TO CRAMSTER for help!

Although DeSouza had a Brazilian accent, once you get past it, he's pretty easy to understand. If you go to class, write down the examples he does, and do the problems, you'll do well in the class. He doesn't so much care if you get the exact right answer, but that you integrate correctly.Take him! He's very approachable and makes class interesting.

Go to class! Go to class! Go to class! All the problems on the test come form the quesions he gives in class. Not just the hard ones, but the theory questions that use r for radius insted of numbers. Study your notes a lot, and you will do fine.
