He was definitely a tough grader. His assignments should be read carefully because if you misunderstood what you had to do, he will grade you a 20/100. He doesn't recognize inclusive writing and took point away when I used "they" for a general singular person who may be male/female/ or outside gender binary. He accepts they only as plural pronoun.

Nothing more than just grammar and punctuation, which is clearly not the intent of the class. There was little to no analysis assignments and when there was one, he focused on nothing more than the way you write, and not on the content. Taught me nothing about how to write a critical analysis and favored those who showed up to his lectures.

There is a definite spark when he enters the room. As he proclaims, he is indeed, "Tough, but fair." The textbook got heavy use in class. He has a critical approach to marking; paying close attention to the marking guide is a must to not lose out on large portions of marks. He does give out marks (and possible bonus marks) for attendance.

he takes marks off of every grammar mistake that you make. He basically only likes you if you show up to class, miss a class he announces it in-front of the entire class and embarrasses you. Even for quizzes he takes marks off for dumb stuf. he's aight when it comes to funny catch him outside before class after his office hours he won't even look u

THOSE of you taking his class- he's not a hard teacher if you come to class and put time and effort into the assignments you will do fine. The people saying he isn't a good instructor or is a hard marker, they a) didn't go to class or b) didn't take the time to get help.

A horrible teacher. For example, his marking system is incomprehensible, subtracting marks for each grammatical mistake and not caring at all about how well written your work is. Also incredibly boring and although he seems nice at first your marks will be a surprise...

WORST PROFESSOR EVER. Francis was only with us for half a semester because he mysteriously left our class, now we have a different more understandable and interesting prof. He screwed up our whole timetable which had to be redone by our new prof. He was a extremely difficult marker and always came in 20 minutes late. A very irresponsible man.

The best professor I had at Grant MacEwan. Listen, if you want a free ride through school and have no interest in learning English, drop the class. Yes 12 of the 30 people who took his class failed or dropped it, but he will prepare you for the rest of your university career. His instruction made law school exponentially easier (LLB 08). A+

He is probably the dumbest person i have ever met. If he doesn't like you he will fail you. If you have a question don't even bother asking cause he won't answer you. Worst class i have ever been in. Having to go to class is like a near death experience

This is probably the worst class I have ever had. He is rude and condescending. You are not allowed to raise your hand in class while he is talking to ask a question. Unable to understand what it is he wants from you on an assignment. If you can, find another class!!

Wow. I have never hated a class so much. He definitly picks favorites. If you dont go to his class he will mark you low. Has one view of writing and if you don't write his way you fail. Which is ironic considering its a CREATIVE WRITING CLASS. I try in his class, i've gone for assistance, I'm still failing. So avoid this class if possible!!
