This class and teacher were HORRIBLE! This teacher rambles so much, and is soo monotone. The online lectures were extremely difficult to sit through. The quizzes and exams are really hard and the material is really boring and a pain to read. DO NOT take this class with him! I am normally a really good student, but i could only manage getting a C.

I took it online. He records himself live twice a week and that's how you can attend class or you can watch the recording. The class is full of terminology and hard core concepts. No text but about 3 or 4 readings per week up to about 30 pgs. each. 2 exams but weekly 10 question quizzes that add up.He does answer emails and has plenty of office hours.

Took the online class. Not gonna lie, I did nothing in the class and still got a high C. but it was painful. Dorman is a slow talker and his choice of articles and readings are tedious and boring. as a ge, id recommend taking something more interesting.

Don't do it! Studied, studied, studied to no avail. Entire class was lost. Tests go way beyond teaching and material. Do the extra credit and the smaller assignments. --->If you dare...

Worst teacher ever! I'm a senior and he is by far the most horrible teacher I have ever had at a university or even a community college. He has no idea how to lecture and the textbook doesn't hardly help. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS!!! He seems like a nice guy, but he should NOT be a teacher! I don't know why he still is.

I went to EVERY lecture, there was no book, his lectures made NO sense and he ended up ranting about LITERALLY pizza and salt when the question "what is the difference between degrees Celsius and degrees Centigrade?" was asked. He is by far, the WORST teacher I have ever had, and I LOVE science. But he is nice, I will give him that.

Oh My God! i thought this class was going to be interesting but he seriously sucks at teaching! He knows his stuff but assumes that everyone knows it too. Lecture isn't helpful, textbook isn't helpful either. DON'T EVER TAKE HIM! if you absolutely have to then take it credit/no credit, i will save your life!!

Very funny and interesting lectures, however, it does nothing to help you. The good thing: Class attendance not required. The assigned text book does nothing to help you, don't study too hard b/c it gets you nowhere. The only way you can save your grade with a C is to do every single extra credit. Try to avoid taking this course with him.

HORRIBLE. Avoid like the plague. I have never failed a class and I did this one. I worked 4 hours studying the guide he gives before tests... didn't help. Over half the class had lower than 50 percent of the points so he curved. Impossible to pay attention to.

I went to all but 3 classes, took endless pages of notes, read & highlighted every chapter & I still got a D or F on every test. Do all of the extra credit & start on your paper very early. The curve may save you from failing & if I had done all of the extra credit I might have gotten a B. GO TO OFFICE TO SEE OLD EXAMS FOR FINAL!!!

Terrible and disorganized. Worked my butt off, and I am retaking the class this semester. You have to do a book report on a list of boring ass books... take another teacher. He is completely disorganized during lecture.

exams are very detailed multiple choice questions. has a lot of low pt assignments probably not worth doing if u do well on exams. gives out study guides b4 exam stick to those and u'll do just fine. studying a good deal for the exams allows u to skip a few lectures.

Went to every class except maybe one did all the extra credit and still got an F. Not a bad guy hes actually pretty cool but when I approached him about failing the first exam after writng about 11 pages worth of notes all he said was, this subject isnt for everyone. So the curve does help but unfortufnatley there were some smarties in my class.

Dorman is an odd but strangely entertaining guy. Look, I failed two of the tests but was saved by the curve. Plus the final is all previous questions from other tests, he doesn't let you keep the tests, but he does let you look at them previous to the final, I just memorized them all and aced the thing.

Hardest GE class ever. Be sure to have the book or else it'll be next to impossible to pass the exams. Do the extra credit he assigns as it will help you out a lot. Go to his office hours too, he goes into better detail out of lecture.

This was a horrible class. He is unorganized during lectures and very confusing. Going to lectures is near useless, except to know what you have to look up for the test. Hard tests, good curve. I would have had a D or F without the curve; got a B. Overall, too much info for an intro course and boring, boring, boring. Not worth the effort.
