His exams are literally based off of his lectures. He weaves content from stories of anthropologists, those long gone as well as stories he himself has experienced. I always looked forward to his class as it was like hearing stories from your grandpa, so this was relaxing to take. If you go to review sessions, you'll know the exam. Minimal studying

I really enjoyed Dr. Feinberg's class on the Pacific Islands. He's a leading expert on the region and his lectures are very informative with a lot of personal anecdotes and observations he's made during his career. I would highly recommend this class to anyone interested in learning about world cultures.

I loved having Professor Feinberg. He's hilarious, and really knows his stuff. Lots of stories, so if you're into anthropology like I am, it's great. He brought in several foods and items from his time in Anuta. The only downside of this class was the fact that your grade came from two exams. I'm looking forward to taking more of his classes.

Sooooooo boring. I fall asleep at least once a class. He talks about himself A LOT. But, I believe it's an easy core class.

Had him for Politics of Culture. All we did was present on articles we were supposed to read for every class. He barely taught us anything. The only grades in the class were 3 papers but you can turn them in multiple times for feedback. It is hard to be involved unless you are an anthropology major. everything is different from other classes

Lectures tended to be boring although occasionally interesting. You can skip class a lot and show up to the review session and do fine which is nice if you are taking more difficult courses that semester. Tests were pretty easy and the books aren't really necessary. If you and one other person take turns going to class you will have no problem.

Had him a few times. Nice dude, very knowledgeable about the subject (cultural anthropology), but is all around BORING. Sitting in his lectures will put you to sleep in the first half hour. His classes are similar to listening to a grandfather tell stories. At least the tests weren't too hard.

He knows what he is doing, he has story time which actually makes it easy to follow. He asks for questions at the end of class and is always willing to help. The class was a lot of fun overall

I hate this class. Dick Feinberg is the worst professor. He hates when students ask questions, he doesn't teach, he has story time. Avoid this professor at all costs, he doesn't care for you so you shouldn't care for him.

He ruined anthropology for me. Bought the two books, didnt use them once. His class is all storytelling. He doesn't cover material. No powerpoints or study materials or homework or even quizzes. Terrible. His exams were slightly difficult, but I suggest not taking him.

Had him for Intro to Human Anthropology. His classes will either be completely boring one day and hilarious and awesome the next, I really enjoyed this class because of him. He is very knowledgeable and his tests are relatively easy if you take notes in his lectures :)

His version of funny was completely not. I don't know what was wrong with the people who actually laughed. The class has potential to be interesting, but his teaching is quite the opposite. He talks about himself a lot and doesn't like when student ask questions mid-lecture unless he asks for questions. This I think is against learning standards.

had him for cultural anthro. the class was boring.tests arent that bad and the extra credit he offers is extremely helpful. Just an FYI, he uses basically the same tests as in previous years,if u can get a copy of them from some1 who took it u will ace it for sure...also the final is made up of a lot of the exact same questions from tests 1 and 2

Didn't like the class but he's a decent prof. He is extremely boring to listen to but knows his stuff and is very helpful if you actually care about what hes teaching. Tests arent TOO hard if you skim the chapters. Like I said the biggest drawback is his extremely bland personality and speaches.
