Took a neuro techniques class from her. She won't teach, but would ask questions, and would never tell you what the answer is. How are we supposed to learn then? Played a big role in ruining my scientific career.

BCOR 021 is AP Bio with a few units cut from lecture and instead glossed over in lab, and theres an oral presentation and review paper (both a lot of work). Delays lectures are not super engaging, but you can typically rely on her PPTs/class notes for exams. She tries to offer review sessions before each exam. I advise going to her office hours!

Comment:
Her lectures seem so unorganized and she is very scatterbrained. She's not very good at answering questions in class but one-on-one she's much better. The review paper and oral presentation she assigned are helpful for learning about the field, but the class itself is pretty rough. Her tests always seem to encompass more than she teaches.

Comment:
Rona is interested in her students, however she talks in a manner that makes you sleepy instead of interested in the topic. Her lectures are somewhat confusing, but if you read the book then the tests were not too difficult. She assigned a 10 page review paper and an oral presentation, both of which were grade boosters and taught us about the field

Dr. Delay is a wonderful mentor in the study of biology. Her expertise is in advanced anatomy and neurobiology, which diminishes her ability to clearly identify students' weaknesses in introductory biology, to a degree. However, Dr. Delay is most helpful in a one-on-one situation, and is very understanding. Just talk to her! That is all she asks!

Ugh. This was my least favorite class as a freshman. I didn't know teaching these days consisted of reading off poorly-made slideshows?..especially a complex subject like Biology. The only good thing about BCOR011 was that halfway through the semester they switched teachers. The second one wasn't too good either but much better than Mrs. Delay.

This class was a waste of my life. Professor Delay should not be teaching. She has no idea how to relate to students and her exams have nothing to do with the lectures. Never EVER take a class with this Professor unless you have trouble falling asleep.

usless, reading from a powerpoint....um I GOT INTO UVM, I THINK I CAN READ MYSELF and her tests had nothing to do with what she lectured about. I could have not gone to any class and still got the same bad grades on exams.

One of the most BORING professors I've encountered this semester. Not helpful at all, I stopped going to the lectures and only went to take tests.

Professor Delay is a nice woman but steered me clear away from pursuing anything in the field of biology. I loved it before and now hate it. She didn't really know how to teach and bounced around topics and didn't give enough reasoning and background. Tests are impossible. Don't even bother.

Prof. Delay can really get into the material, even if it's just into-bio. Her lecture style takes a LOT of getting used to, but if you do the reading BEFORE, it all makes sense-- her lecture compliments the material so that you understand it better, but it sure doesn't teach it to you. She tries hard, and can be kind of funny.

ZZZZzzzzZZZZzzzz... and thats all i did when i went to Delay's lecture. I actually like biology too, but she is so boring and so unenthusiastic about teaching she put me right to sleep. You could definately read the book at home and learn more and have more fun doing it. Exams were fairly hard.. but probably not that bad if you study before.

Not good... Seems like a good enough person, but her lecture SUCKS. Or suckED, rather - I got up one day, walked out, and never went back (except to hand in homework and take exams). The material she lectures you can read in the book and probably understand it better. And be less bored.

goes very fast during lecture, requires you to read material before class, exams are intense. This class is very managable as long as you study...

She sucks, tests were impossible and she lectured as if you already knew the information. The text was easier to understand than she was. I had a 65 average on the 3 exams, stpped going to class and only read the text and got a 85 on the final. Maybe luck mabe she just sucks as a teacher, you decide but i'd avoid her classes.

A good enough teacher and a nice person. All powerpoints (it must be a Biology program policy or something) clouded some already difficult material. Nice easy tests, but I wish she had posted a study guide. I liked her enough to try taking her for a higher-level course next time...
