Professor was friendly, caring, and always eager to get to know his students. There were about 5 journal entries, group work, small projects here and there, and no exam to stress about at the end of the semester(easy A imo). Also got to read one of his published books which was really eye-opening, would've loved to have taken his class in person!

This was probably the easiest class I've taken at UMass. You can tell he cares about his students and give them multiple ways to succeed. There's 4 journals, 4 quizzes, and 4 tests that were all open book. You also have to post at least 5 times in the discussion board weekly but it's pretty minimal and you could tell he loves the environment.

Gerber is one of the nicest professors at UMass. He has helped me out so many times, and he really cares about the students. The class itself is easy, the exams are a little tricky but everything else in the class is an easy A.

This was an online class that I took for by BS gen ed. Very easy class, the exams were all multiple choice and the online quizzes you can retake 3 times. He knows this class is a gen ed and makes it really easy to get an A. 5 required discussion posts a week which add up to a test grade. Very passionate about the environment and a nice guy as well!

Very easy class. It is a gen-ed worth taking for the BS requirement. He gives you the test questions in class so go to class if you want to do well on the exams. You meditate before class which is pretty awesome. The only downside was that class started at 9AM but he is a very humble and nice professor. Overall, it is a gen-ed worth taking.

This is a great class to gain practical writing skills that will help you land a job, get a grant, or save the world. Lots of writing(it IS a writing class after all!). He gives very clear instructions, as well as sends email reminders with those instructions again. Awesome guy - would totally recommend his classes!

He knows that this is just a gen ed requirement. Take it. So easy, pretty interesting. He tells you exact test questions during lecture, and they end up being about half of each exam. No homework. Great guy, easy A, highly recommend.

I loved this class. He gives you test questions in lecture, so it helps to attend, but you will still do very well not going. Exams are extremely easy; has a review day before an exam. An easy A. A great professor. A great class. Take it (or any class with John) if you have the chance!

John Gerber is one of the best teachers at UMass Amherst. This Spring class is really lenient and fun which involves living sustainably in society and environment, & personal growth. There are no books, essays, quizzes, tests, or final, only 15 easy SPARK HW and 20 days of PRS, plus tons of extra credit. I got 107.5% for the semester.
