Comment:
Online lectures are awful: he scribbles notes in pen, scratching out parts, and when he scans them, the edges get cut off. In addition, without audio or video, these notes essentially teach nothing. Lectures/assignments are posted at random times. Assignments are questions from random textbooks, and the only way to do them is to read the chapters.

Comment:
Learned very little about thermal physics with this proff, which is a complete shame since the topic is very interesting. He would go on irrelevant tangents alot of the time related to his research and so on, which made the lectures unbearable.

Had many things on the exam that were completely different from the assignments and I'd never seen before (maybe things he briefly mentioned in class, or from the textbook). Also, his lectures were not too interesting.

Jan Kycia is an amazing professor, he really cares about his students and will go above and beyond to make them enjoy and appreciate materials physics. If you happen to be in the actual MNS program, you are also lucky enough to have him as a program advisor.

Professor Kycia is the most magical perfect human being to have ever blessed this Earth. He makes Buddhà look like a ràcist pédophilé. I am a very rèligious man, because he is my Gòd. He is best described as whimsical, magic, inspirational, and distracted by shiny things. You don't think MNS be like it is but it do. 1010 for hotness. #Doping4Kycia

He is teaching this class for the first time. The material he covered are a little messy. His writing on the board is a little messy too. He makes a few mistakes on the board too. However, he is a very nice professor. He gives very easy midterms and makes the final weight 40% only. He also does a lot of cool demonstrations.

went off on many tangents in class but most of them were interesting. he always knew what he was talking about but sometimes he expected his students to be smarter than they actually were. Lots of cool demos in class!

Digital electronics. Great prof, clear explanations, and helpful. The course itself could have had more topics though. We finished the syllabus early in the term, the rest of the term was "extra topics"

I took analog electronics with this prof. He knows the topic very well, and does an excellent job teaching it. Very helpful and available all the time. He has a tendency to go off on tangents but they are always very interesting, and relevant to the course. This helps to connect ideas and strengthen overall understanding of the course material.

If you are taking Nano science with him, when preparing for exams, MAKE SURE you revise the things he taught in the two days before lecture ends and things he taught BRIEFLY during lectures.

Great prof. Blackboard gets messy but the explanation is very clear, which makes the course easier. Interesting conversations in and out of class about physics. Got mixed up on a few examples earlier on but got them fixed soon enough.

Extremely nice and friendly. Can benifit a lot from talking to him outside of class. Notes are a bit too 'by the book' style.

Not very confident when teaching, occasionally makes errors in examples and not the best notes. He is trying though so you gotta give him some credit.
