Her teaching style isn't for everyone, but there's no doubting what she expects from you. Grading criteria is incredibly straightforward, so no ambiguity. Clearly enthusiastic about the topics, lectures are lenient, and is kind to everyone. Readings aren't mentioned in lectures, but supplement them and build off what you'll learn. A relaxing class.

She's super kind and helpful. She gives the exam questions beforehand which makes studying so much easier. Her cognitive science class was lecture heavy but she uses videos and polls to make it more interesting. I seriously recommend taking her class! She's amazing!

Patty is somewhat of a unique professor, and I can see why her style isn't for everyone. She tells you exactly what she expects - EXACTLY. Like she literally tells you what the test questions could be in advance. So while there is no ambiguity, there is also no room for slacking off. Perfect for me, who hates ambiguity! Also AWESOME in office hrs.

Had her for first year seminar. It was easy because she tells you exactly what she expects, you just have to meet her expectations. Attending class is mandatory, it does take out a big chunk of your grade if you miss class. Make sure to keep checking exactly what your grade is in her classes, or else you might end up with a few decimals points off!

The best professor I've ever had. Brings you chocolate. Her passion shines through every day. A decent amount of homework but not difficult.

I took Cognitive science 101 and she was an excellent professor for it. Interested in the subject matter and did a good job of presenting it. There is a lot of reading but you don't really need to do all of it because any major assessment is based on lectures. Attendance matters for your grade only some days.

She gives out the test questions beforehand and they're easy. However, her lectures are boring and full of extraneous information. Meh.

She's really enthusiastic and you can tell she really cares about her students. She's clear about what will be on the test, even though some of the material on the tests may seem relatively arbitrary in comparison to what's covered in class. Super sweet though, really fun class and she's really smart and engaging.

Horrible at making fair tests. Kind of disorganized, and shockingly untrustworthy lectures/powerpoints, since she regularly presents conflicting information without clarifying which is correct. That said, she's a sweet lady who's just trying to make students think outside of the outside of the box, and the material covered is very interesting.

I loved her. Easily the best PSYC 100 professor. Class was always dynamic and interesting, and though her powerpoints were kind of disorganized, they made me concentrate more on taking notes rather than copying the powerpoint verbatim. She is very warm and personal even in a huge class. Also, her material was the most interesting.

She is an engaging lecturer who is both approachable and friendly. Quizzes for her section in psych were impossible no matter how much I read, took notes, or studied. We'll see how her exam goes...

She's a nice person... mostly just kinda flaky. The biggest problem here is that she designs quizzes poorly and her exam didn't really fairly test what we learned. It's worth it to take the class so that you can hear from the other professors and take more psych classes, but don't expect greatness from Patty.

A horrible professor. Her powerpoints were set up in the worst way possible, her exam was over information that was completely irrelevant to the class, and the majority of the class failed her exam because of it. I was so glad when Cindy Frantz came in to start doing the lectures!

A very distractable professor. Her exams are over the seemingly arbitrary facts that she breezes through in under thirty seconds during the course of her lectures. She single-handedly killed all interest of psychology in me.
