I have never in my life dedicated so much to a class. This is the hardest class I have ever taken and I worked my but off for my grade. He's nice but he does not care about what you will go through in an attempt to pass. I spent 15 hours on an assignment in one day. If you are planning to take this class remove yourself from all other things

Dr. Monzyk will be by far your most difficult instructor at East Central. However, unlike some of the professors in the chemistry department, he is a genuinely kind person who wants to see you succeed. If you want to do well in his class, take very few credits hours along side it as you will be expected to do an unfathomable amount of homework.

He doesnt teach you anything during class. My notes for a chapter was half of a page. We would spend the whole class on 2 problems. Then he expects you to go home and teach yourself all the homework. The homework for this class is ridiculous! He is available after class for help but he doesnt teach you then either. We went from 24 students to 4.

Chem for allied health is the toughest prerequisite science class at East Central College. Dr. Monzyk doesnt water down anything in the course but he does a great job of helping anyone understand the material. He is genuinely a nice man and cares deeply for his students success. Work hard and participate in every class and he will notice and help.

Dr. Monzyk is the kind of professor that will assign enormous amounts of homework, but will also literally sit with you until 10 oclock at night to help . The man is a genius and well respected at ECC. Tips for Gen Chem: don't worry about the research paper, do it and you'll get an A; study Linda's old tests; ask questions; don't slack on labs

He assigns a metric ton of homework, and I dreaded going to his class every morning, but he knows everything about chemistry. He is pretty much always on campus, and posts his schedule so you always know where to find him if you need help. If you can pass his class, any other chemistry course you take will be super easy. Tough, but well worth it!

Dr. Monzyk is really educated on his topics, unfortunately he isn't always the best at communicating it back to his students. Sometimes goes quickly over complicated topics and expects you to remember them. I will say for the most part, he is good at explaining if you listen closely or ask questions. Always makes time for office hours with students

Freaking difficult. Unreasonable standards. Can't explain things, and won't even if you ask. Kids like me and every other kid have difficulty telling what the correlation is between anything he does in lecture. Hate his class. I will rejoice when it's over. Might even drop if he becomes anymore reasonable. (Read first letter of each sentence)

A very callous professor. One of those professors that likes to "weed people out" and give little help to anyone with the expectation that people will just magically understand the material. Don't expect to actually learn much in his class.

He could be the world's smartest chemist but his ability to teach is akin to a rock. Explains nothing, assumes you know what he knows, and proceeds to repeat information he has already spoken when asked a question. (In which the question was not answered.)

Ungodly amounts of homework. I spent at least 3 hours a day stuyding, and still failed. Out of his 9 chem2 students, 3 passed. Not very helpful. Unfair, rude and degrading to students. Would always leave us alone and clueness during labs.

Intro to Chem was a very difficult class, however Dr.Monzyk made it fun. I don't recommend taking it over the summer term unless you have 4-5 hours a day to dedicate to homework. Very challenging, but it makes every other class seem easy! He helps you whenever you need, and teaches you in a way that makes you really learn the material.

I am not a person who does well in chemistry, but he was there to work with me everyday when needed. His devotion to his students is immeasurable. The class was hard, but if yoou worked at it you could pass. I got a C and it was truely the toughest grade I have ever earned.
