He's a horrible teacher. Expect to learn very very little besides the fact that race is a social construct. Stutters a lot and teaches irrelevant information. Belittles students a lot too. Would highly recommend to NOT take this class

Missing even one class will lower your grade. Talks most of the class period about irrelevant things. Assigned two very long novels to read, and made us purchase a book we haven't used once yet.

Possibly the worst professor I have ever had. Does not clarify anything whatsoever and contradicts himself all the time. When you ask him a question he makes you feel like an idiot and he can never look you straight in the eye. For the papers, you HAVE to write it how he wants it and if you don't he will fail the paper. Hate the class.

Worst professor at SCSU. He talks down to everyone and is very snobby. He never lets you see your grades until the last week of school. He never gives you a rubric or clarifies what he wants you to write your papers on. Even if you're a good writer, you'll probably get a bad grade on your papers because they won't meet his expectations.

This professor is the most arrogant person I know. This is a great class if you want to be belittled, made to feel like an idiot when asking a question. Assignments are very unclear, he doesnt seems to know what he wants until after he has been given the papers, then he grades them extremely hard. I honestly dont understand how he is teaching a

As a professor, he does little to nothing. He has no respect for his students and talks down to people constantly. He calls people out and tells them they're being disrespectful, when oftentimes they're just listening. He will put in boring videos and go to his office for some classes. He does not explain the assignments he gives out.

He can come off as arrogant but he is a good professor. This class consists of 2 tests and 3 papers. You have to study for the tests and it is not hard to understand what he wants from you when it comes to papers because he blatantly states it in the rubric. I am a freshman and I enjoyed this class. Also, Dr. Nayenga (helps with the course) is cool

He is very full of himself and thinks he is better than everyone. When you ask him a question he makes you feel like an idiot, and the question is not answered. Not clear on what he wants or how you are doing in the class. I would not recommend him as a teacher, at all. I am a senior and he is the worst teacher I have ever had.

I found him to be very difficult to work with. He was very unclear in answering questions and changed deadlines often and without notice. The class was a majority of paper writing, which he did not explain well. Overall, I found him to be challenging and his class was extremely disorganized.

Seems like a nice man, pretty boring (8 class, wanted to fall asleep everyday)I did the papers, got average grades, although if you aren't in to writing papers don't take this class with him. There is a lot of writing, but zero tests! A hard grader- but seems to care about his students. I put an average amount of effort and got an average grade!

Students should realize it is much easier to listen to a white person talk about racism against blacks (and other races), and be as difficult of a teacher as Johson, than it is to listen to a black person be a tough instructor. He is made out to be a raving and self-absorbed man when in reality, he is the best source for this subject. And he cares.

He is a great professor because he really cares about making the students learn about the subjects. He is a difficult grader, but not unjustifiably. His teaching style is authoritarian, so he can be difficult to listen to sometimes, but overall, he is really great and intelligent.

ICK ICK ICK. I would rather drop out of college than take another class with Dr. Johnson. He is unclear to what he wants and then grades you super super hard. I am an english major and I am getting C's on my papers :( He is rude, unapproachable, and biased.
