This class is fantastic. He initially will say you have to go to lecture but it's not true- he never took attendance. Definitely worth taking for a gen-ed. In discussion there's a one question quiz and if you went to lecture or read the book (or the spark notes) you'll know the answer. There's 3 essays which is kinda sucky but it's not bad.

amazing class, fantastic professor. lots of books, all are great. heavy reading, don't take too many other heavy reading courses at the same time. great for people into existentialism, philosophy, sociology. if you pass in your papers and go to most discussions you get an A.

Great professor, he can be a bit monotone but he's incredibly interesting. The books are great to read, and the papers are all based on your own opinions, you can't go wrong. Some TA's allow you to fix paper for an A. Great class, great TA's, this class really got me to think more and open my eyes. HIGHLY recommend!

Anyone who thinks Lenson is a bad professor clearly should not be in college. Lenson is pure genius! He doesn't censor his lectures, and is so clever and entertaining that i never skipped a class (even though attendance isn't mandatory) The books are interesting (prepare to read a lot) and Lenson really makes you think about the world in a cool way

Fantastic professor. Books are largely interesting, and he takes a vote at the end of the semester to make sure everybody liked the novels. Extremely down to earth, and isn't afraid to speak his mind about the administration. Would take his class again in a heartbeat.

Lenson is someone who has experienced a lot throughout his life and hearing him talk about it is fascinating. He makes sure to only assign interesting books. If you're willing to do the reading and write two papers this class is easy enough and very enjoyable.

Lenson is absolutely brilliant. Two essays throughout the semester, one short quiz per week. His books are messed up, but SO interesting. The man is a genius and has such intelligent things to say. Great gen-ed, would take it a million times over. Essays are opinion-based, cant go wrong! TA's are really helpful and interesting as well.

Really fun class to go to, you don't learn anything but you get fair warning. I love the books and Lenson is a fun guy to listen to. Take this class if you like to read and you enjoy F-ed up literature. Go to your discussions (for quizzes), don't forget about your papers due and go to class when you want someone to tickle your brain :P

My favorite professor so far. Explains things clearly, and is interested in the students' points of view. You'll read about 1 book a week; take a one question quiz every Friday in discussion, and write two essays due for the midterm and final. NO TESTS! This man is a genius and I was honored to be one of his students. Take this class!!!!

Great class. You read about a novel a week, and quizzed once during TA session. Reading material is usually enjoyable, partially due to the fact that students have a say in picking what to read. There's only 2 papers due the entire semester; no finals.

his brave new world class is incredible - it redefined the way i think forever. lenson is the man and i suggest that anyone take his class if they really want a different perspective on how to think about the world. the reading is heavy - a book a week, but its all worth it. relatively easy grader and gives interesting and funny lectures
