Honestly one of the best professors. I normally don't like participating in class, but this was the one where I actually was interested in. He also gets to know a handful of students really well. Tests were not bad for me, especially if you went to UTU sessions (I went to 2 per week) and just practiced. Really fleshes out the concept so you know it

The best teacher I've had here at Pitt. He is such a funny, excitable, loving guy. 6/5 rating if that was possible. If you don't watch his lectures and do practice problems, you will not pass. There's a ton of opportunities to get extra help though. He stayed after class almost every day to answer questions and recitations are for extra help too.

Go to the UTU session every week and before each exam do all of the practice exams on google drive. Best lecturer at Pitt. George is a really nice guy. He makes sure you actually understand things. Class averages are in the high Cs so don't count on a curve like other classes. Probably the most difficult prof, but if you ask for help you'll get it.

George has honestly instilled in me a profound appreciation for Organic Chemistry. I went into this class hating Gen Chem, but George's engaged lecture style classes (even over Zoom) and his genuine care for all of his students really motivated me to do well and study hard for his exams. I found his exams to be very fair though, not too hard.

George is the best professor I've ever had. Exams are difficult but fair. He is extremely good at explaining difficult concepts and creates an environment that welcomes questions and curiosity. Always go to lecture + UTA sessions and participate - wrong answers are expected and stupid questions don't exist in his class.

George is the best best best best (best of the best) prof I've met at Pitt. I am not a chemistry person but I learned a lot from him. He is very hilarious and explained every single detail really well. Exams are hard but reasonable. He doesn't try to trick you and everything is taught and reviewed.

George is hands down the best teacher I have had at Pitt. But honestly, if you are not planning on taking the MCAT or DAT I would find another O-Chem 2 class to join, it is an extremely difficult course. However, if you are seriously thinking about taking these exams his class will prepare you well for the next step in your academic career.

Absolute worst professor ever taken at Pitt. I hated every moment I was in his class, but loved Chem 2 with another professor. He ruined a subject I used to love. Rude. Told half the class they shouldn't be doctors. Unavailable during office hours.

George is an extremely personable and knowledgeable professor, and you will learn the most out of him than anyone else in the Chem department. But jeez those are the hardest exams I've ever taken in my 3 years of undergrad. He really makes you work for it. However, ochem 2 with a different prof was a breeze because he prepared us so well.

George is an absolute gem! He explains all concepts thoroughly and deeply cares about his students and their well-being. However, don't let the first exam trick you into thinking this class is easy--IT IS NOT. Do the practice problems. Go to peer sessions. Go to office hours. Absolute must take for orgo 1 for pre-health students!

The best professor I have ever had. George has so much passion for organic chemistry and truly loves teaching his students. This class will kick you in the butt and make your brain hurt, but at the end you've learned so much more than you think. Organic chemistry is not meant to be easy but George made it fun and honestly made me love it. Best ever

George Bandik is the most amazing professor at Pitt, there is truly NO ONE LIKE HIM. The material is difficult but he is such a great lecturer that by the end of the semester you can step back and realize just how much you had learned. Enjoy every single minute in his class and take full advantage of all the resources offered. 1st row is the best<3

Literally the best professor I have had in my entire life! You need to WORK his class is so hard but it is worth it he cares so much about his students. If you go to peer sessions, attend every class and recitation you can succeed. Warning though if you are looking for an easy A this is not your class.

Amazing lectures + incredibly likable person. You'll learn a lot, but you have to keep going to class to keep up. If you do little by little studying, it's easy to understand his lectures and prepare for his exams. 3 midterms + 1 final. No need for textbook, just go to 2-3 TA review sessions to get practice problems *DO PREVIOUS EXAMS to practice!*

George is an amazing professor! However, his class is probably the most difficult section of Ochem. If you are taking his class only for the grade and not to learn organic chem, I would suggest another section. But, if you are ready to work hard and can afford a lower grade, George is the best! Get to know him, he's super nice!

I love this man to death. He is a real sweetheart and one of the best professors I have ever had. He is really difficult, but you learn a ton. He makes you work for your grades, and you have to put a ton of work outside of class. You have to really know the information for the 3 exams and the final which are the one things graded for the class.

George is both the best and hardest professor I've ever had. This is the first non-A I've received in college, but I would do every daylong in Hillman again. Go to class and do every practice exam you can to do your best in this class. George is the happiest, most caring and interesting professor you will ever have. Please take him if you can.

Lowest grade I've ever gotten in college came from this class ("Honors failing"). This class requires that you build your schedule around it. You gotta break up with your girlfriend. You gotta give away your cat. Throw out your phone. Call your mom, tell her you're going off the grid. You gotta bring a pillow to Hillman. You gotta take George.

George has a special place in my heart as the best lecturer in the college. Exams were the hardest I have ever taken, but his lectures prepare you for it as he is always accessible. He's very old-fashioned and I feel it complements his teaching style well. <3
