One of the worst instructors I have ever had. In a 95 level class, you would expect that he would explain things, but no such luck. If I have a C and can tell he screwed up, why am I paying him to talk down to me? Three tests, 85% of your grade.

Frequently gets his own math wrong. Ask him to explain what he did? He will literally do exactly the same problem, with the same steps, next to the original, and not explain anything. 5 minutes in the tutor center taught me more than an entire quarter with don. If you already understand the material, probably fine, but if you struggle, stay away.

He would give a lot of examples, pages and pages but would not stop and ask the class if we understood the material. The class was given three tests and the homework done before for those chapters were due the day of the test, which was nice IF you don't procrastinate. Tests have a lot of material not shown in class.

Gave wrong syllabus from last summer term. Told us to cross 1/2 of it off, I crossed off wrong half because he wasn't clear, got behind on a ton of HW the first 1/2 of the term since we only turn in homework 3 times, and wouldn't let me make it up even tho it was his mess up. Bad handwriting and got his own math wrong often-students corrected him.

Professor Cataldo made math a lot easier for me. He explains everything very well, and provides good examples in the notes. Also, make sure to go to the review sessions before tests and write down every problem he covers. Then, squeeze them all onto your test notecards. He uses the problems from review on the test, and I aced the final this way.

A Santa fellow. He spouts information at rapid speed but is dedicated to making sure you know. If you don't understand you can keep asking questions and he will take all the time in the world to make sure you understand the material. Lots of POINTLESS homework though that hardly relates to current classwork.

Don truly cares about Math and his students. He makes us laugh and he has a really nice, soft-toned demeanor. Always willing to help students with homework, he is incredibly laid back and helpful. I strongly struggle with math but he made it easy. I definitely recommend!

Mr. Cataldo was an amazing math teacher. He would make the class interesting by joking slightly just to make the class not seem so boring. I aced his class. He did give a lot of homework, but it was worth it because the problems were on the test.

I found Professor Cataldo to be engaging and humorous during the lectures. homework and class assignments are clear and concise while core concepts in algebra were explained well without delving too deeply. I did feel like the semester is a bit rushed but I expect that isn't the fault of the teacher, just simply budget cuts from the administration.

Mr. Cataldo is a good lecturer. I found his explanations and examples easy to follow and had no trouble following along. He will do extra example problems when teaching new types of problems if students ask or said that they weren't getting it. He will mix a little bit of humor into his examples sometimes and always has a smile while teaching.

Mr. Cataldo is an older gentleman whose teaching style is very effective and he likes to show you how to think of problems from another point of view. I found it to actually help and teach me things I didn't learn in HS Calc. He isn't energetic or extremely engaging. The lecturing type. He is understanding and kind. Will take again.

I did not feel like Mr. Cataldo's teaching style worked well with mine. He is not very interactive with the students. He sits in his chair the whole time and just lectures. I need a teacher who makes sure heshe is making the material clear to all the students, not just a few. He gives 3 tests then the final, allowed to use 3 notecards on test.

Don can't read his own handwriting, we would have to correct him all the time, he moved too quickly, never saved his notes, talked slowly & made us all want to fall asleep. Ended up having to teach myself. In some exams he even threw in material we never went over just to "see what we would do." This isn't a game? At least you can use 3 notecards..

Nice demeanor, at times somewhat funny, allows note cards for the test, and homework is due day of tests. BUT, week before final gives us 3 new sections not on syllabus for MTH65 and is work for MTH95 and will be REQUIRED to know for the final! If it was counted as extra credit, GREAT, thank you, but many aren't taking MTH95 and don't need it!

Mr. Cataldo did not really teach effectively. I did most of my assignments on my own out of the book. He didn't review homework or Tests. He would not give us our tests to review. I felt I would have gotten a better understanding if I had had a teacher who was committed to helping students learn.

Don's lectures are casual and sometimes humorous. He seems to understand that not everyone is a math guru and offers his time to help. If you work hard in his class you should succeed no matter your math skill level.
