Comment:
Anne is very kind and her class is consistently enjoyable. She answers emails quickly, and is quite willing to provide help and support outside of class. However, I wish she'd do more to challenge her students' thinking. The course was very easy, and I think it could benefit from some added depth. Assignment instructions were also very vague.

Comment:
Anne is a lovely, kind woman who is clearly very knowledgeable about her field. Her stories are dynamic and engaging, although I wish she'd focus more on the readings. She is very thorough in teaching exactly what you need to know, perhaps to the point of redundancy (although I can completely understand why it was needed!)

so many readings, super boring lectures made me want to drop out every class, talks about irrelevant topic, can be a harsh marker but more importantly gives 0 useful feedback so if you don't do well its hard to improve. doesn't let other people express their opinion. would avoid if possible. doesn't explain relevance of her papers

Comment:
Anne is such a sweet lady, unfortunately her lectures are dreadful. She rambles on for a long time making what could be said in 30 minutes take 3 hours, expect to take half a page - a page of notes per 3 hour class. Paper instructions are often unclear, without detail but never fail to say "proofread", which she will mention in every lecture too

Great course with phenomenal professor. Inspired her students to explore all aspects of our research and was more than helpful when it came to any questions we had. One of my favourite courses during my 4 years at Trent, and inspired me to continue on with my education!

I didn't enjoy going to these lectures, they were poorly designed & I didn't take in any of the material. She skipped over things that were meant to be important,I found out later that they were on the exam but she only spent 2 seconds on each thing. I ended up having to do outside research to get information because it wasn't in any of the texts.

I love Prof. Meneley. She is fun, kind and sweet. I hope to have the same adventures as she's had in her life time. The class was dry at times but what can you do with a theory class? She's not to blame for what has to be taught!

FANTASTIC prof. Funny, engaging, intelligent. She really provided a comfortable seminar environment that encouraged a lot of interesting discussion. Tons of reading, hard work, but it's definitely worth it. I found her personal anecdotes to be extremely helpful, also. Essentially, I loved her course. Take a class with her and see for yourself.

Actually she went to NYU not City U, shows how much attention certain people pay in class... But then, Anth 399 is a required course so even the people who want a bird major have to take it...It's a great course, but some of the students you take it with aren't so hot

Introduction to cultural Anthrpology? More like self indulgent story time with the most self involved professor at Trent I would like to give a sample lecture. “ ummm, ahhh, ok well then you see........in The Nuer.... funny story actually when I was at City U, in New York getting ready to go to Yemen, I knew someone that studied the Nuer and t

Professor Meneley is quirky and quite sweet, really. She approaches teaching with humour and humility, and tries to be engaging, though the course content is, at times, perhaps less than inspiring. In any case, she is a very approachable and helpful professor.
