I took his class for fun and to read more... well... I definitely read more. So much reading that I had received messages from classmates asking if it was an 8 week class because the amount we had to read seemed unbelievable for a 16 week course. Nope, just what he does. The reading is extreme and the discussions make it hard to keep up.

I took Professor Reimer for Science Fiction and I enjoyed it. Yesthe course is demanding. You have to read and write a lot. And yeshe is particular about his grading, but gives you rubrics, drafts, and feedback. It is not an easy elective. I put a lot of effort into the course, and he gave me wonderful, HIGH grades for it.

Do everything you can to avoid his class. I took good plays and it is taking up just as much or more time than my important classes. It is absolutely ridiculous. Dont take this class if you want to have a life.

I have never reviewed a professor, so this is my first. DO NOT take this course. It is a sad excuse for higher learning. Unfortunately, this instruction has ruined an entire period of literature for me now. I'm a history grad, so every course I took was writing intensive. This was writing abuse. I wish I'd looked at his rating here, it says it all.

Took what was supposed to be a 100 level comic book course online. Took it FOR FUN. Well, was I in for a surprise. Tons of discussion posts, 300 word minimum, two due dates a week. Ridiculous amounts of reading. Hard grader, extremely specific. I will never take a course with this professor again.

Worst professor I have ever had, class consists of only discussion boards and you get points taken off if you disagree with him. Almost feels like he tries his hardest to fail students.

He makes you do a lot of discussion boards that are complete repetitions almost every time. He has a very specific writing style he wants and will grade you on you incorporating his ideas not your own. It is very time-consuming and his feedback is completely useless. Hell tell you he dislikes or likes something but gives no indication to it.

DO NOT TAKE HIM. DO NOT DO NOT DO NOT. He works his hardest to make you fail and will pick at anything he possibly can to ruin your essays. I have never had such a terrible professor before and this was even an online class! If you want positive criticism or to feel like you are accomplishing something in the course, take someone else. ANYONE ELSE.

There were a ton of small discussions, but they were very easy and worth minimal points. I struggled with keeping up with the reading, so I got behind several times. He also didn't give very clear feedback which was frustrating, but he did work with me when I had questions. Not a terrible class, but I didn't get much from this professor.

Dont take this professor if you want an A. We did over 45 discussion all worth only 5 points each. We had 4 projects to complete, which he graded all of them very harsh. Any feedback would simply say "This is D level work" or "This is not insightful enough". He would never give you clear reasons the work wasn't good. Worst english ever.

This class was absolutely awful. We had up to 4 discussion threads we were responsible for taking part in every week, which would total up to over 1,000 words, on top of some literary analysis essays that he graded way too strictly. Gives you 2 48-hour extensions, but you have to use them wisely. By far my least favorite class at Marshall so far.

I took an online class, and it was very labor intensive. Assignments are crazy demanding and only worth 5 points. It was a 200 level course, but I've taken 300 and 400 level courses with less work! Most assignments will be responding to reading, and you are expected to use specific examples from a story, but you won't be allowed to quote it.

Got a 0 for an entire week's assignments as I was a few hours late turning them in. Failed me by .2 points! Was the last class I needed to graduate, had to sign up fnext sem. for ONE class for Marshall Plan. Missed out on a job I was interning that summer as I didn't have a degree by summer's end. Partial credit would have passed me, no remorse.

The class mainly consisted of reading multiple adventure books, and then writing fairly short papers on them. The grading was fair, and the feedback from the instructor was helpful.

I have never gotten anything but A's in my past english classes. This professor is has given me c's on every essay and test. The class is also quite labor intensive. I would every single tuesday night and wednesday from when I woke up until 7:30 (when the works due) struggling to complete the work load. I will NEVER take a class form him again.

His class while, yes, a bit labor intensive is fairly easy. Most of the assignments are only worth 5 points. So again, yes, it sounds horrible, but in the long run it's not that bad. You can miss a few assignments and it almost doesn't hurt you at all, or do all of them and the test almost don't matter. Follow the directions and you WILL BE FINE!!!

Terrible!!! When you ask for clarification on his vague assignment details he is rude and treats you like you're stupid. Tests are 6 questions and worth 60 points so if you miss one you're screwed. Takes off points for stupid stuff like font type and size. Don't take him unless you have a lot of free time for busy work and 5 point assignments

Comment:
Quite labor intensive, but that's not my problem with this prof. I have never received less than an "A" on an English paper in my life, and I've so far been given only "C"s. His rubrics are unclear and grading arbitrary. Lots of busy-work that requires regurgitation. E.G. Cite specific incidents from a chapter which is completely inner monologue.
