She's never specific with what she wants in her papers, and expects them done quickly. She doesn't explain the information well and the book she uses is no help at all. Her lesson plan is extremely unorganized and you can tell she planed it right before class. She grades based on favorites though so be nice to her and you'll get a good grade.

Professor Hopkins is very kind and knows what she is doing. The class was a little challenging bc the assignments are a little unclear and she is a tough grader, but if you stay after class or email her she will help you. You only need to read the book for the papers and to study the tests, which are hard. She makes class fun and interesting

Professor Hopkins is very nice and knowledgeable in the topic she is teaching. However, the last month she gave us about 8 big assignments back to back that was very overwhelming. Also she does not have a clear grading criteria/rubric, she posts everything under announcements on BB and it is not always clear what she expects. Very vague.

She's a good freshman teacher. She explains concepts well (it is a Com 101 course though...) I don't recommend her for anyone else besides freshman. She taught like it was a high school class (notebook checks, apply to your life questions). The class was not challenging and I did not feel engaged. Rarely showed up, and still plan to get a B.

This class was so easy! If you go to class and take notes you will get an A! Exam review guide is exactly what will be on the exam. She gives you 50 points for taking notes in class and you get points for attending. She makes the class interesting. You never just sit and listen to her speak and lecture! Highly recommend!

Talks from start to end of the class period. I'm an audio learner so this wasn't awful, but she does elaborate a bit too much to the point that she spends about 5 minutes to explain 2 minutes worth of material. Meaning, 1 hour lecture24 minutes of information. There is some group work which is fun & puts on clips of interesting TED talks

Professor Hopkins was a great professor for the class. She explained things well and kept things simple during lecture, but her exams were very tough and required you to memorize a lot of the chapters in the book. If you read on your own and pay close attention in class you will pass though. Overall, great professor and I would recommend her.

She is very long winded. She spent an hour discussing preciseness in speeches. Her tests are very particular and very tough--I'm a low A, high B student, and I am just barely scraping by. The assignments are pretty easy if you follow the guidelines. Boring class, more psych than comm.

Professor Hopkins was my favorite professor this semester at GV. Even with having her for a 6-9 she still made class enjoyable and past by quickly. She cares about you more than just a student but as a person. Very flexible and understanding. If you go to class and participate you will have no problem getting a good grade. I highly recommend her.

She is hard to talk to, never responds to emails and rarely posts on blackboard. Very unclear in her directions and will say one thing one class period and will say something else the next. S Don't take her class if you don't like being confused. You absolutely need the book and she only gives a midterm and final. You have to write many essays.

For being a nursing major, she is great. She's clear on what she wants from your essays. My section was an SWS class, so there were 5 essays we had to write, but they were fun and easy! You get to choose the topic of your essay each time. Be prepared for presentations, but she's an overall easy grader. The midterm and final were an essay exam.

Really nice. Loves teaching and genuinely interested in her students and making sure they are doing well. Has stayed after class to help me through concepts more than once. Always tries to incorporate videos to make class more interesting.

If you don't mind writing, considering you can take this class for an SWS credit, then you should be fine. A majority of this class was common sense. I barely used the book except when citing papers. If you're looking for an easy A, I would recommend her but prepare to be bored to tears.

The class was "Argument and Analysis" but she made it debate class. She is passionate about her teaching yet is really lazy and unorganized. Two students debate every class period on a topic assigned 24 hours before hand. The tests and quizzes come directly from the textbook. Go to class because each day is an in-class assignment.

She is a very nice and relaxed person. She turned it in a debate class, though it was argument analysis. We had many debates, both random and prepared, which was intimidating if you don't love public speaking. Her explanations of the materials was often confusing. We did not go over the book much, but we used it for quizzes. Essay exam.

Not my favorite professor. Although the class was extremely simple, class shouldn't have been mandatory because it was pretty self-explanatory. I didn't learn much, but then again makes for an easy A!Susan is very nice and friendly though.

At the start of the course, she claimed we wouldn't have a final exam. Second to last class, she announced that she had "made a mistake" and we actually would be having an exam. She was utterly useless as far as grading in a timely manner, giving helpful comments on why she graded us the way she did, and telling us that BEFORE our next assignment.

She is probably my favorite prof so far and this is my favorite class. She makes everything so simple, and she brings the class together so you don't feel like a stranger to everyone. The essays are generally simple, but be prepared for presentations. She's generally an easy grader as well. I get A's on everything. I definitely recommend her!
