???From my personal experience with his Drawing II class, Mr. Pritchett is the WORST professor I've ever had at SAC. He is pretentious, rude, and has a serious hubris problem. Although he gives thought-provoking statements, he mostly just rants about how the world isn't up to his standards. I enjoy drawing but I didn't learn much from him.

I took Drawing 1 and 2 back in the nineties. I hope he's still teaching. He has high expectations. Wonderful instructor and expects his students to be able to maintain a classroom discussion.

This professor, has a huge ego, and will very quickly tear you down as soon as he can. Learning vocab is a must, and by the end you will have learned a lot. Has flawed ideas about what art is. He tends to be a jerk, but you will still learn a lot.

Curmudgeon who talks in circles.(Contradictory) Yells, Male/Art Elitist, Condescending. Great professor to take in order to thicken your skin. he has some good points, but the rest is mere opinion. He suffers from rampant Flattus Voicis. He also uses comments such as "I remember when [insert irrelevant story] ." Avoid if you are not an art major.

Pritchett in my oppinon is the most VICIOUS and INTENSE prof. ive ever encountered.... and that is why i belive i got so much out of his course. I highly recomend him if you desire to expand you knowledge and admiration of art or if your a art STUDENT with dreams of becoming and ARTIST take his class. It will be intense but worth it in the end ^^)

The man will help ground you in conceptual thinking and competently introduce you to the world of ideas. He helped me establish a strong visual vocabulary. Lots of discussion and enquiry in his classes. Check everything you think you know about art at the door and be ready for a boot camp style of learning. Absolutely the best proff I've had.

This man is a genius. He expects the most out of everyone of his students and he will challenge you to the end. It feels like you are in art boot camp but the benefits outweigh the difficulties. By the end of his class, you will understand so much more but not just about art about life also.

My friends warned me about him, and I did read the comments here before I took his class. Some students said laziness is a big factor in failing, so I added his class because I can't afford to be lazy and pay to fail. Plus I'm a skilled artist. They mustve been teachers pets because it was bad! The work isnt hard, but he's very rude and HUGE ego.

Although most of his points are interesting and gets you thinking, he'll contradict them as quickly as they came. If you're quiet, he'll shun the hell out of you for it. I KNOW that isn't paint-thinner I smell coming out of his mouth. I hope Arrodondo catches him for it. Pritchett gives education a bad name and doesn't deserve to teach at all.

Take Pritchett if you really want to learn and are not afraid to work hard and can handle criticism. If you can't do those things, you are not ready for his classes. His critiques are honest - if you fail he'll tell you - but then again - what better way to learn. He teaches about art as well as his subject. Keep your ego away! He's great!

This man will teach you what the word "art" means. He is a true mentor to serious students. Take him if you dont mind realizing that you are not the most important thing in the universe. Horrible class! Sketching is my strength, yet to him I had "my own agenda." I took this as a requirement, not to be treated as an amateur. I changed my major last year and his ugly attitude was a factor in that decision. To him, art is what HE says it is and it changes daily, so I dropped the course. Want to learn? Then stay away from this guy.

I listened. I wanted to learn. But this guy talked in circles and while many words came out of his mouth nothing was ever really said. Take this class if you are one of those "artier than thou"-types who believes that your way is the only correct way, because that's what this guy is like. All and all, this class was a pretty big waste of my time.

he picks favorites and if your not one of them, expect HELL. you have to have alot of patience to take him. i learned alot by everyones critiques and not by him. try to take someone else if possible. he brags on who he knows and you will walk out of there with no self esteem.
