Comment:
I would recommend everyone take Professor DeWilde. It is obvious he cares about his student's success and wants you to be prepared for the real world. Role-play scenarios were engaging and made you analyze situations from different POVs. This was an SWS for me so we did have papers, but nothing too long, and an easy A if you put forth the effort.

Class for us was almost completely discussion based, thus attendance based. An A was not hard to come by if you remained thought provoking and studious. I do however wish I took away a little more from the class. We only had a couple assignments and papers so I never knew where I was at. The learning curve could have been greater basically.

Very unhelpful outside of class. I went with a question that should have taken no more than a few sentences to answer, left ten minutes late feeling more confused. He tends to go on long tangents when asked to explain anything and by the time he's done both of you have forgotten the original question. Kind of slow giving grades. Lecture heavy class

Excited to take Eastern Philosophy, except the entire semester focused on Hinduism and then Buddhism. Last two or three classes of the semester focused on Daoism. If you're interested in learning more on Hinduism, this is the class for you. He wasn't a lot of help outside of class in his office hours. Don't recommend if you are a visual learner!

Brilliant man but too brilliant for a 100 level class. He expects a lot from his students and is a tough grader when it comes to papers. He really makes you think but his class was too difficult for me.

I had a preconceived opinion about business ethics due to taking it before. Professor DeWilde made the subject come alive for me. He was incredibly helpful and accommodating. One of the best profs I have had to date!

Very knowledgeable - great stories about traveling through eastern countries... Not many points to base grades off of, but he's always willing to help. Class discussions are a blast and he's really interested in seeing you grasp the material; so he cares less about grades than your comprehension. Great guy!

Really nice guy. Very knowledgeable about the subject matter. The class is extremely easy. He seemed a little uncomfortable teaching a business class, but it's always a philosophy professor that teaches business ethics.

I went into this class not expecting to enjoy it much - I took it to fulfill and gen-ed credit. But I enjoyed it SO much more than I had planned. He is a wonderful professor, and very thoughtful. He considers everybody's opinions, and expects you to participate. There is a bit of reading, but most of it is enjoyable. I would recommend him for sure.

Very intelligent prof! He is very helpful if you do not fully understand something (which happens often in Ethics) He is rather funny at times too! His tests are challenging but if you know the material well and can understand his advanced english in the questions you will do just fine! Lastly, Google him and the Wall Street Journal :)
