He is a very nice guy, and I found his class very easy. Three tests, all open notes/book, sometimes quizzes in class(extremely easy), and only one short paper. As long as you read the books and ask questions, you'll do fine. He explains things very thoroughly.

Nice guy and very helpful! Only downfall is his grading and clarity on the topics. He tends to go off topic and repeats himself often. Two tests (all open notes, computers and book) and a paper. DO THE STUDY QUESTIONS (he gives you the answers)! and ask plenty of questions...

This is a hard class simply because he is ALL over the place and constantly repeats himself. When he say's read the books, he is not kidding reading and doing the study guide is the only way you will pass, and be able to understand him somewhat. Tough grader, if you wanna go to class go if not its up to you, he's very "whatever" about that.

Nice guy. Textbook use is mandatory. When he says do the readings and answer the questions, he means it. I did them and still had a hard time on the exam. All he does is talk and go over the reading, and it'll be difficult, but pay attention. He is very nice and willing to help. He appreciates regular attendance and does take it regularly.

He is a nice guy and the class is easy if you do the reading. He is all over the place tho. He laughs at his own jokes and he is long-winded. Repeats himself but has a true love and understanding for the subject.

He's a silly dude. I fell asleep alot but there were some times where he just cracked me up. he's a goofy lookin big tall guy with a low, sleepy old voice, but he's good and fun and cares and if you want an A he will help you get it if you put in the work. He does ramble, though

Pretty easy class. 2 open notes test, one paper, and multiple random 5 questions quizzes. Books are cheap, got them both for under $10, but boring. Attendance is not mandatory but he gives random quizzes so you might as well go. He likes to ramble and takes forever to answer one question. He's a nice guy, but he's old and never stops talking.

Great professor. He bases his class on critical reading of the two books he assigns. He really likes what he does and if he sees you are trying in his class, he is more than welcome to help you out. I would definitely take his class again. Just make sure you understand the readings well!

His class is easy, if you keep up with the reading. But even when I did keep up with the reading, I sometimes didn't do well on his random quizzes. There are 2 exams (open note), 1 paper (easy), and countless T/F quizzes based on the readings. Don't take this class if you hate reading about God and religious stuff.

I LOVE DR. LOOMIS! He is very helpful if you come to class. Attendance is not mandatory, but he is much more willing to help you if he sees your face on a regular basis. His classes are funny because of the stories he tells. You need to know the material for the tests.

Dr. Loomis is an awesome professor! his class is very easy and is often entertaining. Requires two short books for the class (Very cheap, i spent maybe $15 total). 2 exams (non cumulative), 1 paper, and several true/false quizzes based on reading. Attendance not mandatory, but it will help you in the long run.

Mr. Loomis is a great professor and VERY easy! Lectures were very interesting. Towards the end of the semester, it gets tedious to go, but if you come to class and know the stories about the philosophers, you will pass his tests. 2 exams non-cumulative, one paper, and two shorts books to read through the class.

He's a great professor! He tells fun stories during class and will do anything to help you pass! He's really personable after class, too. He doesn't assign much reading each night. I learned a lot and had fun in this class! Definitely take it! We read actual philosophers, not a text book. He's also very objective and you know what he wants.

All of the quizzes and tests are objective which I think would be hard to find in a Philosophy class, but he makes sure you know what he wants. Pretty funny professor. He tells interesting stories that relate to the subject.

Very thoughtful teacher. Knows what he is talking about and tries to make it appealing to the class. Two tests, both open book, and a bunch of 5 question true/false quizzes. Not mandatory to attend, but it will hurt your grade if you miss the quizzes. Goes over everything in the book with extreme detail and will help all those who ask. Great Prof.

LOOMIS IS VERY PASSIONATE ABOUT THE SUBJECT AND KNOWS A LOT OF INFORMATION ABOUT IT. CLASS CAN GET BORING AT TIMES BUT HE'S VERY HELPFUL AND ENCOURAGES YOU TO ASK QUESTIONS! THERE ARE 2 TESTS, 1 PAPER, AND DAILY QUIZZES! YOU ONLY HAVE 2 BOOKS BUT HE SPLITS UP THE READINGS SO ITS EASY AND NOT LONG.
