knows what he's doing. he is experienced and knowledgeable. he lends a helping hand mostly and is kind. but this was the hardest class I have ever taken. Some projects took me 30-40 hours, he said it would be much less. I didn't feel like he always recognized students hard work which was upsetting bc I worked very hard. this class helped a lot tho

I finished drawing 1 last fall with an A-. I'd say that's good. I'm a very hard worker and I always attend class. But Fish desires perfection on projects and it's disheartening to hear him say he doesn't believe in handing out A's when I work my butt off. For people like me who want to finish with solid A's/B's, avoid him. Maybe he'd be better IRL.

Love this guy. Is definitely one of the harder drawing professors I've ever had but is SO worth taking his classes. They're challenging and he's willing to help you along the way (if you pay attention and attend classes). He's very engaging, honest, and fun, class is never boring. If you want someone that will better your skills, he's your guy.

I really disliked his personality. He always talks with a super condescending tone, he tries to be funny but he's not, and he made me dread drawing even though I used to love it. Also, with online class, he would eat and drink while talking in his mic so if you don't like chewing and mouth noises, that was definitely annoying.

He was an overall nice guy, however I wasn't a huge fan of his personality. He made me feel incompetent at some points in the semester, and that I was "beneath him," because he was a college professor

Fish is my favorite human on this planet. He is hilarious and an amazing teacher. I would not have survived my freshman year without this man. You would be LUCKY to ever have him as your professor.

Fish is truly one of the best profs out there, hes hilarious and truly wants you to succeed. He gives great demonstrations for projects and in class work and always lets you know a week in advanced when materials are due for a class. He has really encouraged and inspired me and has boosted my confidence. I wish he was the prof for every class!

PHENOMENAL professor! He's absolutely hilarious, and extremely helpful in assisting students. His critiques also help quite a bit. Make sure you try your hardest, and he'll love you. He's made my entire college experience much better!

He is amazing! He cares about his students, explains in detail, and helps students become successful at critiques. It is time consuming, and you have to put in your best effort, but if you do, he notices, appreciates it, and helps you get better. If all professors were like Fish, I would go to school indefinitely.

I LOVED fish. He is a great guy and genuinely cares about his students. He will push you to improve and be the best you can be. You have to set aside time to work on projects or you won't get good grades. Overall, I wish all my professors were like fish.

I believed after taking his class, that anyone that doesn't think they know how to draw, draw with him. I've been drawing for years and he taught me more than I imagined! He makes proportions and perspective seem so easy to execute. I recommend him 100%. Oh, and he's hilarious. He skips to transport himself sometimes.

I adored Fish. He genuinely cares about his students. He'll give each one attention and help without talking down on you. He's also very funny and just a rad guy. I recommend him for any foundations class.

Amazing. I'll admit that I'm somewhat of an underachiever but with this class I worked extremely hard but loved every second of it. Fish makes class fun to come to, and I know I'm learning not only drawing but actual life skills that helped me in my other class. He provided clear instructions on every assignment and helped us improve.

Amazing professor. Had him in foundations courses, but I really wish I could have had him for a couple advanced classes. He's remarkable, to say the least. He will definitely make you work, not just for your grade, but to help you actually improve and create something you care about. His advice is wonderful, not only in regards to drawing. 1010.

Fish is extremely tough, but he's also completely fair. He will push you like no one ever has, but my gosh will you have some stunning work at the end of the semester. Listen to everything he says and do it. He will help you turn your 'eh' work into pieces you can't wait to show off. I HIGHLY recommend him.

Really difficult professor, but extremely worth it. I feel like I actually have to try my very best to do well in his class, so when I do it is extremely rewarding. I get the feeling that he genuinely cares for his student's well being, and isn't afraid to joke around with them. He's like the cool uncle you look forward to seeing on holidays.

A professor helps you learn from mistakes, he doesn't, he put me down, he insulted me, and told me I am going to fail numerous times. I do not feel as though he is my professor but instead my bully. He treated other students better than me, I don't know why he targeted me, but I will not take him again.

Hands down, the best drawing teacher at GV. He's tough, especially if you struggle with drawing but his critiques are spot on and always helpful. Listen to EVERYTHING he says, don't take critiques personally, and get into a routine of thinking about how you're using what he's taught you when you're drawing, because HE WILL MAKE YOU GET BETTER.
