He is one of the authors of the book we used, so if you take notes and read the book you will do fine. I filled up an entire notebook, there are lots of notes and the lecture can be very boring at times. Pretty easy, 4 tests 70 mc each and in class questions, 1 can be dropped at the end of the semester.

On the 1st day professor hewitt described the patriot act as the sole reason why there has been no successful terrorist attacks on US soil. If you share his views, I'm sure he's great but if you disagree, which i hope you do, then don't take his class.

He's a really nice guy but his lectures are so boring! He just reads off his notes and out of the book. Attendence isn't mandatory but you'll end up regretting it if you don't go to class, since a lot of the test comes from lectures.

Hewitt's Capstone is the one to take if you don't want to be overwhelmed. He breaks up the work and it is related through film, literature and music. I really enjoyed his class.

Very nice guy, very boring class. My entire class failed all his tests. MUST READ BOOK THOUROGHLY!!! Gave a lot of extra points for lack of grades on tests, which was very helpful!!! Not a bad prof, he was helpful if needed

Hard class. Everything he says comes from the book. He has a bundle package which to be honest helps a little but its not that great. his lectures are hard to stay awake for and he teaches about 30 pages worth of notes for a 70 question mc test.good thing is 4 tests no cumlitive exam and in class questions are credit no credit. sounds easy but hard

Great class, take 4 tests and fill out in class questions. The book is a must, he gets almost all of his questions from the book. Gives study guides for the tests he gives which helps alot. Lectures were a little boring but not horrible.

Prof. Hewitt was a good professor overall. he taught the material well, but his class was boring. tests are very common sense, as long as you read the book. his grading scale is awesome. there were times when i just wanted to shoot myself in the foot just so i could leave the class early.

Nice person, good teacher. Unfortunately, this class was so boring I could hardly stand to attend most of the time. His tests were m/c, true/false and essay, giving everyone something that appeals to their strengths. His lecture does help to clarify the textbook, even if it is unorganized. Take him for CJ, just not this class in particular.

Really interesting class. Prof Hewitt knows his stuff and works hard to get students to know the major concepts and ideas. Too many students just sit on their dumb butts and never say anything and never seem to have read the material. Not Hewitt's fault if they wish to stay stupid.

Professor Hewitt has a very good speaking voice. Unfortunately, what he is saying is pretty much common sense and not very interesting. Most people struggled to stay awake in this class. The tests weren't so bad as long as you follow the study guide. It was an 'Ok' and 'Boring' class. He's a good guy, though.

Pretty boring class, but that's not his fault, the subject is pretty dry. His tests are pretty hard but thats the whole class: lecture, study, and test. 4 tests altogether, overall not a bad prof. Not great but not bad.

Knows his stuff. Tries to engage the class but when the class is unwilling it gets boring. Listens to opinions as long as you can back them up. Tests arn't horrible but not easy either. Read the book, listen in class and you will be fine. Nice guy and worth taking if you want to learn. Don't bother if you don't care or won't come to class.

Looks like some of my fellow students would just prefer a bunch of from the field war stories. If justice systems are not built around the law and interpretation of the law, what is it built on? I thought the class was valuable--a bit dry, but valuable.

Blah Blah Blah...summer class with this prof is such a snooze. All he does is talk, and talk, and talk. He might know his stuff, but is cynical and hasn't worked in the field. Rather boring. Take this class if you want to learn about a bunch of court cases that seem irrelevant.

Very informitive class. Teacher gets you thinking. Makes off the wall comments that start debates and get you to think but not made to piss anyone off. Tests are good as long as you read and listen in class. Would have been better if he stopped people from talking during class and being rude.

Very good teacher, likes what he is teaching. has a tendency to let the class get out of hand though. tests are difficult in that his study guides suck. no writing assignments, only 3 tests that are non-cumulative.
