She is so forgettable, she makes you learn about 50 artworks for only four artworks that are on each exam.

Very sweet lady but terrible professor. She is always confused. Her syllabus was not correct from the start. She says to reference the text on the exams yet contridics it. She does not give feedback on what you did wrong. Have to memorize like 40 art pieces to only be tested on 4. Try avoided this class with her. ESPECIALLY FOR GE!!

She's super sweet but not very good at going over what is actually going to be on the exams. Gets confused a lot and only chooses 4 images for exams from 3+ chapters. Be VERY detailed on exams and even at that she still might give you a low score.

Terrible, makes u memorize like 40-50 art pieces only to be test on FOUR of them. Way to hard expectations for general ed. Only mid way through semester and hate it and plan on retaking in a community college. Fall asleep in class like everyday, and super hard grader, not worth it if taking for general ed.

She doesnt have any powerpoint thats you can refer to online. Her power points in class have no text either. Taking notes will help, but she like word for word phrases from her texts. She offers no extra credit.

I have never worked so hard in a class in my entire academic career. The material that you are responsible for knowing for each test is crazy. You have to memorize 70 or so pieces of artwork being able to recall the artist name, title, and location of where the art was made. There's also a vocab section as well 3 essays on the exam. HARD CLASS!!

Get ready to study the hardest you ever studied. Makes you memorize 60 arts works (person, name, and place). End up making 80 flash cards per exam. Only 10/60 art pieces are on each exam. Grader gives everyone low grades for minor errors like spelling. This is my hardest class right now because of the terrible grading and im not even an Art Major.

This professor is very passionate about her field. She knows her stuff by far. 3 tests, not exactly hard if you pay attention and take good notes. One huge research paper, time consuming yes, but do not slack off on it. Very friendly and thoughtful about clarity and what you want explained. Great professor I would take it all over again.

She's not too intimidating. Lectures are long and not that interesting, so do it for yourself to listen closely and take good notes (because the info will be on the exam). Exams may be intimidating because it is all memorization, so do make flashcards! She is good about responding back to emails. The book is not necessary but it does help :)

Not helpful, not lenient at all, not understanding. interesting class but extremely tough grader, 3 essays on every exam and one outside essay. I emailed her 3 times about my grade only for her to refuse to regrade it. Make sure your formatting is absolutely perfect on the essay. Exams are not terrible if you memorize everything, but it's ALOT.

SHE is a good teacher. Her class just happens to be boring. She is very understanding if you need to switch your test day, and is there if you have questions. Dont take this class for an easy A though. Tests are all written answers, and there are 3 essays on each.

Do not. I repeat do not take this class. Might be easier for lower division such as art 1b. Took her class for an elective as my major. I came from a very intense high school and consider myself a good writer. I always get good grades on my essays but not in hers. Interesting class. Awful professor.

Lecture, after lecture can get a bit boring. Eventhough it's interesting at times. Read all the books she asks you to read. I like how we had four field trips to look at architecture. Gives 1 essay assignment and about 3-4 writen exams. In order to pass read the material!!!

Pretty boring lectures, but informative, bunch of note taking. Tests are how previous reviewers have said. I had Obrien for 1B, and personally find this class much easier than Obrien.

First off she does not grade the test her self, she uses graders. Some graders are better then others. Class is super boring, if you space out easy this is not the teacher for you. She has unreal expectations for the test. She want you to know everything about 20 to 30 works of art, but only test you on four of them.

She is very hard professor. I studied like 10 hours for first test and barely got a B on it. She is not fair in grading, sometimes. Unless you think like her, it's hard to get an A in her class. Basically, all it takes is to memorize every art she shows, I mean memorize everything about that art piece. If you can do that, then you can get an A.

4 exams, it limits the amount of pieces to memorize for each section. Tests have ident (name, culture, location), vocab, and 2 essays (compare and contrast or disc piece). Gives a list of art pieces but the book helps). Lectures r BORING but helpful for exams. Take good notes. Don't let her scare u on the 1st day. It's not that bad. Just Study!

boring if you are not interested in art, lectures are dry and straight out of the textbook so attendance is not required, 4 exams, an art paper about a piece downtown, WebCT would've help tremendously but is not available for this class, requires note taking by hand, no laptops, test are fairly easy and usually involve just that of memorization

Helps to do more research on the web on what she disscuses in class so that you can really write a lot on her exams. She's a tough grader but if you write a lot, you're bound to get a B or A. All books are out of print so be prepared. Take extremely thorough notes and dont miss class.

WORST teacher I've ever had! Not helpful when needed, all required books are out of print because they are so old, materials for class are hard to find, and tests are nearly impossible to pass without studying like crazy. I wouldn't recommend this class for anyone.
