Professor Skube might just be the most annoying and disrespectful professor I have ever had. I consistently asked him for help on assignments, even submitted papers early to get his feedback, but would still get low B's. He was also very sassy, snarky, and rude towards me. Don't take this class unless you absolutely have to.

Skube is understanding and SO smart. He genuinely wants you to learn. Although there were a lot of papers (like all media writing classes), they weren't that hard. I'm not a great writer and still managed to get low As/ high Bs on every paper. He also gives great feedback. I feel like I have new writing skills that will last me forever. Take Skube!

Professor Skube seemed intimidating at first, and is now one of my favorite professors ever! He is really caring and understanding, and doesn't assign pointless work. If you show up to class and put in the effort, you will do well! He replies to emails so quickly with really helpful insight. If you show him respect and effort, it will pay off.

Media Writing with Skube has been my favorite class at Elon thus far. This class is definitely not an easy A but, you learn a lot of skills to be used post grad. I had a very hard semester while taking this class and Skube was so understanding of what I was going through. If you attend office hours and are genuinely willing to learn, you will pass.

Skube is one of my favorite professors at Elon. he is tough, but worth it. He will make you put in the work. Don't take this class if you aren't up for a challenge or up for improving yourself as a writer. He has a Pulitzer prize, but don't be intimidated. laugh at his jokes and help him with his computer :)

Very tough grader. Cares a lot about the effort he sees you put into it. Doesn't overload homework but assignments he gives he expects a lot from. Going to office hours and participating in class helps a lot.

Hell class. Teacher gave me so much anxiety that I dreaded going every day. If you give an answer and you're wrong he'll find a way to make you feel bad about not knowing, so just don't talk.

I loved having Professor Skube! I got a concussion at the end of the year, and he worked with me to make sure everything went smoothly. Also, go to his office hours and talk to him. He scares you on the first day, but if you love to write and ask for help he will help you. I wish he was teaching more of my classes!

I learned a lot from Professor Skube, but he's kind of in his own little world. I would recommend him if you're a print journalism major cause he's a tough grader and you'll have to really work to get an A on any paper, so you'll learn a ton about writing. His final was crazy though.

If you participate in class, put in your best effort, and befriend him you will do really well in the class. As long as he knows you care he is more than willing to help. Super knowledgable about writing and gives you multiple chances to rewrite and improve. Critical but definitely makes you a better writer. Funny guy with good intentions.

I absolutely love Skube! I have taken him for two classes so far and would definitely recommend taking one of his classes. He's super quirky and strange but that's what makes him awesome. Despite his humor, he is accomplished in his field and knows what he's talking about. He can be tough at first, but once he likes you, you're in!

Skube is not easy. He gives out a list on the first day of things that students he likes do. I tried to follow. As a result, this is the best professor/student dynamic I've ever had. If you try hard for Skube, he will take care of you. Show a genuine interest and do your reading, speak up about your opinions. I wish I had more time with him.

Professor Skube is one of the most eccentric teachers I've had in my life. He's deaf, he makes strange comments, and he absolutely LOVES to pick on some students (but that usually means he likes you). This class is definitely a challenge but you definitely become a better writer because of it. Skube is also VERY PR happy, so beware of that.

Great Prof. He is extremely helpful if YOU show interest in your writing HE will too. He is not afraid to work you hard and you shouldn't be afraid to work hard. Its college! Highly recommend taking him, you won't regret it.
