Dan is a hilarious guy who looks at the world differently. I highly recommend taking a class from him. You're only graded by recitation and two exams, so make sure you don't skip recitation. His lectures can be confusing to follow, but they're enjoyable and I always walked out of class having learned something new.

Dan is hilarious and very left leaning. His class is very interesting and challenges the way you think. When the class went online the class basically turned into a do it yourself with no resources. Do the recitation readings- there were at least 4 questions about them on the midterm. Re-read the textbook and do the study guide and you'll be fine

Dan is super funny in lecture. Tests are pretty easy and there is a small presentation done in recitation. Lots of relevant examples given in lecture. You do need to show up to get the notes though. He puts notes on a document camera. I am disappointed we didn't really experience a lot of him due to Covid-19. It was fun while it lasted.

Its not necessary to go to lectures but Id recommend you do anyway, he has some interesting things to say and puts humor into it. Tests arent too bad but make sure you pay attention in recitation, cause that content will show up on the tests.

Dan was a really excellent professor for the first half of spring 2020. Easily my favorite. After the whole coronavirus thing, however, he pretty much didn't teach. His class consisted of assigned textbook readings, and writing a 10 page final paper that I'm pretty sure everyone got an automatic 100 on for turning in. Not much learning while online

He is one of the funniest and most sarcastic professors at Pitt. This class is an easy A if you put in the effort for exam and go to class. His lectures are so much fun, and he keeps you intrigued the whole time. Only bad things is the exams did have questions from readings that weren't in lecture; So, make sure to buy the books and read.

I have never learned so much while laughing. His lectures are gold and genuinely enjoyable. You don't need to read the book (midterm and final are directly from lecture notes) but the topics were so interesting that I liked learning more.

Had him for Deviance and Social Control. Very funny and cool professor. Told us to call him Dan. His subject matter is interesting and not difficult and the tests were pretty easy and fair. There is a recitation that takes attendance but don't let that scare you out of taking this. Highly recommend

Really funny and engaging, basically says whatever he wants, then tests you on it. Really passionate about the subject. If you show up every day, his lectures are memorable and exams are easy enough that you'll pass no problem. Though he doesn't like psychology (or mose specifically: psychiatry) as a field very much.

Dan is the perfect guy to take deviance with. He has seen a lot and definitely lives his life using a sociological view. The book was not necessary but the content was actually enjoyable to read through. Easy extra credit opportunity recitation attendance points. Point scale in syllabus tells you what you need to get for an A. Awesome professor

Professor Romesberg was an AMAZING professor. I would highly recommend him. He is really funny and the course is super engaging. There is only two exams. The only downside is recitation is pretty boring but easy to get through with pretty much no outside work.

Extremely easy but also stubborn. Lectures are not only sociologically-based, but solely sociologically-centric. Hearing him speak and basically disregard the psychology/medical community is painful, and I'm a soc major! Examples are the extremes that prove his point to an almost comical level without any regard to another perspective. Offensive.

I struggled to sit through Dan's lectures. He goes off tangent so often and starts ranting about things that we all already know are true, but he doesn't seem to realize that. I still went to class for the notes, but you really don't need to. I learned nothing in this class and wanted to pull out my hair in lecture, but its a very easy course.

Do not buy the textbook, lecture doesn't follow it at all and it is not needed for exams. If you go to lectures and study your notes before the tests you'll get an A. He doesn't take attendance but going to lectures help for the exams. Only homework is one easy group project and then the two exams.

This guy is hilarious. There is absolutely no need to go to the lectures but they will definitely brighten your day and make you laugh. Tests are super easy he reviews the class before and tells you exactly what to study and small sections from the book to go over. Awesome guy.

He is a really awesome professor. He has a quirky sense of humor which makes the class a lot more interesting. You don't have to go to class but he pretty much outlines 80% of the tests (2 tests). He also tells you what material is going to be on the test. Take him if you want an easier class to boost your GPA.

He is a very funny individual. He uses an overhead projector for notes, so if you don't go to class you won't have the notes. However, i think you could get them from the book if you choose. Recitation is mandatory and you must do a presentation in recitation. Test was kind of easy, but there's details on the test you wouldn't expect.

good gen ed. Dan is a funny teacher. def thinks in an unorthodox manner. I enjoyed his lectures, but some people couldn't stand them. Exams were incredibly predictable. All you need to do is copy down all of his overhead notes and thats all you need. Recitations have a group presentation and extra credit opportunity
