Doesn't teach coding, teaches you how to copy his code. Incredibly hard for someone w/ no experience(most ppl in this class). Responds to emails weeks late, isn't available to provide help, uploads like every assignment late. I cried over most labs in this class. Entire class has to work together to do them. I wish I had more room to complain here.

He is not accessible outside class or even in class, he'll just end the zoom meeting before getting to us. labs can be difficult because his lectures are irrelevant. he makes a lot of errors. I prefer learning by doing it myself so this class worked for me. if you are bad at math the labs may be extra hard.

Even if you do everything right you will still be docked points. This happened to myself and other classmates on a regular basis. Professor said we could go into breakout rooms at the end of class and he would get to us but would regularly end the meeting before getting to everyone. I've sent him 3 emails so far and haven't gotten a response to one

He is condescending when asked questions about the material because he thinks everyone in an introductory level course should know everything without having to be taught. He will leave you in the dust and leave you to google how to do things so taking a class with him is not worth it, your professor is Google now not him.

Computing is weird at first, but Tymann doesn't make himself someone students want to reach out for help from. Quite frankly, he's just not very nice. Learning from my CompSci friends was so much more useful than learning from Tymann.

As someone who had no prior knowledge of coding, I found his labs very hard to understand. At the beginning it was fine, just the basics, but then he started going so fast that I could never grasp what was going on. The lectures are extremely boring and have nothing really to do with coding itself.

I had no previous knowledge of coding. His lectures provided info that wasn't useful when it came to completing the labs. The first few labs were manageable, but when it came to completing the Create Project, I felt very lost. If you have knowledge of coding with Python, then this class will be easy, but if you are new to coding, you'll be lost.

Kind of rude honestly. Found him to teach us nothing when it came to coding. His lectures were irrelevant and when it came to the CREATE and EXPLORE projects his grading criteria was stupid. Was supposed to make a digital poster, and I made it 2 pages because I didn't have enough space and he gave me a D because it was 2 pages instead of 1.

Taught code at consistent pace for first half of semester, then sped way up, left people w/o coding backgrounds behind. Lectures weren't super interesting but were fine. Vague requirements for projects, if you're unclear on a project ASK HIM DIRECTLY, it helps a lot.

Going into his Princ. of Comp. Sci. class, I had no prior knowledge of coding whatsoever. But there are weekly labs and lectures that make coding not so difficult to understand. Explains things clearly and is extremely helpful. If I liked computing at all, I'd take one of his classes again.

Everyone says this guy is great which is why I took him, but I really didn't think he lived up to his reputation. Yes, he's funny and enjoyable in class, but that doesn't necessarily help you learn, especially not well enough for his test questions. If you haven't had any programming experience before RIT, take someone who will actually help you.

This guy is in love with java! This may be good if your taking CS1-3, however it sucks bigtime in PLC! He spend the first 5 weeks talking about our project which was in java, and then crammed all the other stuff @ the end. I didnt get a grade back untill week 7! This is not cool.

Some how he was able to cover almost the entire JAVA language in a quarter and still remain fair and clear. His tests and assingments whill not simple are compleatly fair. He is also more then willing to help you if you need it. If you get the chance take his class.

Very interesting professor. I actually didn't fall asleep in his 8-9 am class. Presents the topic very clearly. The only thing is that he goes a little slow.
