Not a fun class at all. Have to listen to a radio show, read the text book, and take a quiz on it everyweek. A lot of work for a class that is not enjoyable, however interesting at times. Not a class to take to keep or raise your gpa.

Really interesting professor. Quizes are easy. Go to class and take notes and you should be ok for the tests. You learn a lot of really interesting stuff and she's really knowledgeable (funny too!). If you're taking soc take veit!

Not a terrible class. We covered some really strange but interesting classes. If you're a good BSer, you'll get through her two papers with ease. She likes to show movies during class, which is nice. Attendance is expected but not required, and she's overall a really nice lady. She has lots of interesting stories. Definitely take her class.

One of the most interesting classes I've ever taken, because the professor is SO knowledgeable and able to relate concepts to interesting real-life examples. Need the book for quizzes, which are easy. go to class and you're golden

Honors intro to Soc was sort of a tricky class...we didn't learn much in class (although what we did talk about was interesting), yet Professor Veit expected so much on the mid-term (4 take-home essays in two days). An interesting class that I would recommend if you need an honors basic studies credit.

Lectures are are inclusive, exciting, and she finds a way to relate everything to everyday life. Lots of reading, but the books she uses are well written, easy reads. Study guides are extremely tedious, but tests are a very easy A if you do everything she asks of you, no tricks! Highly recommend this class, I am taking more sociology because of it!

Dr.Veit grows on you throughout the semester. The first couple of weeks I thought she was going to be boring, but after a while I began to like her. She really knows her stuff and tells a lot of interesting stories. You watch a lot of movies. Tests are not hard as long as you do the readings.

Amazing teacher. She does have an attendance policy, but she makes going to class so interesting it doesn't impose a problem. She really knows her stuff and teaches it well. Most of her tests are a variety of essays, short answers, true/false and multiple choice. A very nice lady, as well.

Great Teacher! Although Sociology as a major is useless with just an undergraduate degree, her class made me at least want to minor in it. She is extremly interesting and as long as you take good notes and keep up with the reading, you will do well in her class.

I am a SOC major with a 3.84 gpa in major and have never had to do the amount of work that was required in this class. Group project, 30 minute presentation, all-essay tests. Final is a take-home, but is practically a research paper - took me over 9 hours to do it. Tests have way too many questions and topics to cover. Watch good videos.

Tests are simply straight from what you read and what you go over in class. If you read every thing you're supposed to and take notes, an A will be yours! Tells a lot of great stories and makes a somewhat boring subject very interesting! Have no doubts in taking her!

Tests and papers are clear in what is expected. Makes it easy to study/write. Veit is a wonderful woman. It is hard to do badly in this class. Lots of discussion, but that's where you learn the most.
