I have always been a straight A student until talking this class. Hes way of teaching confused even the brightest from my class. Homework isnt important to the class as the grading comes from 5 tests total. My dean was very amazed when hearing I got a 75 on test 1 as others got Fs or literally negative grades. Do not take this class.

I took him my first semester of college (fall 2019). I also took him with another professor. If he lectures by himself he sucks. He goes off topic fast. Its really hard to understand his point when he is trying to show you a work problem. His exams are easy but he grades rough. All semester he only gave one extra credit, so keep that in mind.

His class can be confusing during the lectures, but he is a good professor that tries his best. Do all the homework and practice problems he provides in order to do well on your exams. There are 4 tests, both separated by a take-home portion and an in-class portion.

He really does know what he is talking about when he lectures but takes way too long to explain something. He also veers off during teaching and starts talking about other things that are completely irrelevant. Would not recommend.

By far the worst professor I have ever taken. He does not explain the material well at all. He expects you to know the material as well as he does, even thought he has been doing it for over 40 years. His test are nothing close to what the lecture is about. I wouldnt wish this professor upon anyone. You basically have to teach yourself.

Finite was super difficult for me. Professor Davidson isn't the easiest to follow if math isn't your thing. Don't afraid to ask questions (but you may be even more confused with his answer. My suggestion to you is if you struggle with math have an outside tutor because you'll need it

He is an okay professor but he goes a little bit fast, dosen't teach a lot but gives you handouts and worksheets that explains the answer. On the bright side there is a take home test and a test in class. The take home test tells you what to study on topics. Beware, the take home test has different questions in different papers

He is a good professor if you treat this course with a professional attitude. He will write the correct procedure on the board and expect you to make the time to practise, which will give you a solid foundation that you can build on later. There are many handouts and he will expect you to review them. Make sure you show up, or you will fail.

Comment:
This professor only lectures about theories of algebra and why they work or don't work. He does not give specific examples of how to solve problems. He hands out his own notes in class that you must memorize. All Learning of how to solve algebra problems must be done at home on your own time. He does not respond to emails in a timely manner.

I've taken classes with professors that were hard to comprehend, but this professor was the worst I've ever taken. Stay away from the professor, you will waste your time doing homework that doesn't even apply to his test.

I took this professor because of my work schedule. This was my first college course ever. He does not help you, just hinders you. He draws his graphs and then erases smearing the chalk. To his dismay, he makes the math even more confusing by graphing another over the smeared chalk. When he is finished it looks like a disassembling ball of yarn.

Worst professor ever! Do not take! And if you take go to the Dean. I went to the Head of the Math Department and nothing got taken care of. Also, he keeps on deleting my post. Beware! If you read this do not take him. He likes to delete my negative posts to keep his "Rate Your Professor" rating high. Nothing, but blatant disregard here. Resign...

Don't take this professor. I had to get a tutor to teach me the material. He is extremely unprofessional. He doesn't teach you anything so expect to learn everything yourself.

Took him during spring semester. He is such a good professor. Has 4 test plus final. All test are 2 parts. 1 part in class and the other take home. Homework isn't required. Recommend to take if you are taking multiple classes and need a easy good grade. Wouldn't recommend if you don't like being taught on a chalk bored.

I took Davidson for Summer II. I ended up doing okay, but if you take this class during the summer, be prepared to cover a lot of material in a short amount of time as with any summer course. He shows you several different ways to do things so you can find one that works for you. If you get lost or need help, just ask him! He is brilliant!

I wouldn't recommend taking his class in the five week summer session. He is helpful if you ask questions, but he does tend to get off topic sometimes. He mainly used the textbook. He also gives extra credit! It's not hard to fail, but if you do the work, study and do the extra credit, you'll do fine.

This is a horrible instructor that needs to be removed from the classroom as soon as possible. He is a great mathematician, but is not suitable to effectively instruct students. I hope San Jacinto College takes action. I have taken many Professors throughout my college career. Absolute worse! Better of teaching yourself.

Davidson is a wonderful and funny man. Although he doesn't really give examples of how to do what we are learning. He doesn't go over everything that will be on the test. I've had to self teach myself and see tutors.
