Class was extremely difficult for no reason and the exams were on super specific material. Even after attending office hours material he said would not be on the exam appeared. I recommend talking with him after exams to review questions as you might be able to get points back but this class resembled biochem and was hard.

Worst class I've taken at UConn. His exams are extremely difficult no matter how much you study and ask about the most irrelevant details. His slide sets are enormous and text-heavy. Take mammalian endo instead of this class if you can!!

I studied my butt off for this class and got a C+. His class is graded by just a couple exams so get ready to cram. He's very accessible outside of class and a very nice man who is willing to work with you. He went over all my exams with me after I took them. His lectures are a bit boring but he is clearly passionate about what he's teaching.

Professor Crivello clearly knows his stuff, but it does not translate well to teaching, especially in the all online format due to COVID. Classes asynchronous, just threw lectures at us. Entire grade relies on 4 exams and some questions in the text. Exam questions not very clear, be prepared to study a ton.

Professor Crivello's online class has been very easy and simple. He only grades you on exams and multiple choice textbook questions. I believe that if you read the textbook then you'll easily pass this class, as most of what he says in lectures is based off of the textbook. He is eager to help you learn even if he seems a bit harsh

Didn't have to go to a single class. Honestly, I don't even know what the guy looks like. Skimmed the textbook before each exam and did homework problems. Looking for an easy 2000 level PNB class to pass? This is the one. Looking for an A? You'll have to put in more effort than I did, but definitely much easier than other classes I've taken.

It was actually 2265. Taking this class with him was SO STRESSFUL. You will probably do well if you're a conceptual learner, a lot of the things in his lectures connect and the exams are super hard (majority of my classmates failed multiple exams) Thankfully he curves exams though, but if you can take this class w/ someone else, if you can.

you should record his letures and review them at home. when you want to study for his exams, make sure you undersstand the material because his questions focus more on concepts rather than direct questions. go to lecture, understand the big picture of the organ systems, and try to connect what affects they have on the human body. good luck

Took PNB 2250 with him and this class was way better. Lecture material way more reflective of the exams. Record every lecture and write down everything he says and you will do well. Only two exams in the class, but if you put in the work, it is not impossible to do well.

Crivello is a great guy and is very intelligent. There was only a midterm and a final in this class based on an insane amount of information. I studied for two weeks for an exam and got only a 72. Exams are in the testing center and test on very specific little details. No chance for extra credit or other grades.

After taking PNB 2250, I would definitely recommend the class to anyone who wants to take it but is willing to work hard. I achieved consistent grades on exams that were 10-15 points above the class average. After the semester i sustained my initial opinion that Dr. Crivello is an extremely intelligent and knowledgeable scientist.

His lectures are pretty good, and hes fun and engaging. However, the exams are extremely hard and tests on small details. The only grades in the class are the exams and some extra credit, so study hard.

Crivello comes off as a nice guy, but I don't think he cares much. Went and spoke with him about my mistakes and he rushed through my errors and then dismissed me. Class average was a 66%, the saving grace was the 9 point curve that he gave. He preaches not to buy the book, but truthfully buy it and read it its much more helpful than his slides.

Good guy! Really sweet and funny! Tough AF grader tho! His exams are pretty rough but he gives extra credit for each exam. Doesn't drop any exams and ou whole semester grade is based off of your 4 exams, 4 extra credits (optional), and the final. It's pretty hard to get a high grade here unless you are good at answering in depth questions!

I'm bothered there are so many negative ratings for Dr. Crivello. He is such a great guy who truly enjoys subject matter and teaching. He is always glad to answer questions and begin discussions about material. The course(s) he teachers are difficult, but only because he wants you to appreciate its content. Take good notes and go to lecture.

Only 3 people in the entire class got an A. That should tell you something. The class is designed to give C's. Lectures are online, but it is no help without going to class. Each exam gets harder. Exams are weighted in a weird way which is not specified. His exams are ridiculous and not representative of material. Tested on things he had not taught

DO NOT TAKE AS A SUMMER COURSE! Crivello says to only study powerpoints (which are online), but he tests on the most abstract concepts. He does not tell you how exams are weighted and only gives slight curve. It was way too much material in a short time. There is no outline for exams. Avoid if possible.

While the subject matter of the course isn't too complex, there is a LOT of material to learn and you really need to know it inside and out to pass the exams. By the time I was done studying for the exams I felt that I could have taught the class. Overall, if you're interested in the material and ready for a challenge I would highly recommend it.

I think he's a pretty cool guy-I went to office hours twice and he was helpful and super funny. Exams are super hard, don't get me wrong, but he now gives extra credit, which is a new thing. Do them! It helps.
