Great professor. Really helpful in office hours. I've never taken an astronomy course aside from this one because I'm an engineer, but this was totally worth it!

Easy class, somewhat difficult homework; google questions, you'll figure it out. easy class to take for divisional natural science w/lab

This class was boring. Fritz tried to make it somewhat interesting, but made corny jokes. Homeworks are very hard, use TA's to help you out. Labs are pointless, but you have to do them, but easy to get to a good grade on. Go over review questions for the tests, and you'll do fine.

He's a nice guy and easy to talk to -- use his office hours to discuss questions you have about the material, because he doesn't do a particularly effective job presenting it during his lectures. The man's a bona fide rocket scientist, but he has trouble conveying his expansive knowledge to intro students.

boring, repetitive lecturer, but a nice guy. not terribly helpful, but always easy to deal with. dont expect much, and you wont be let down. note: from my experience, the TAs were very helpful but very tough graders.

Study the review questions, and then for the final, study both our midterms. The lectures are pretty boring, though Fritz is a nice guy. If you have trouble on the homework (which you will) he's more than happy to help if you just go see him. I wasn't that big of a fan of the class, but came out of it alright just because I participated and worked.

Avoid this class at all costs! This professor is undoubtedly brilliant as you can see from his countless acheivements in astronomy, unfortunately none of it seems to translate to class. Labs are irrelevant and unreasonably graded, lectures are unbearably boring, and no matter how interested you may think you are, it couldn't possibly be enough.

Originally, I thought class was going to be boring, but It really turned out to be painless, most of the time. Study the reveiw questions. Homeworks are hard but google is your friend! my only issue was April and how hard she grades but apparently it'll be curved (labs that is).. I'd still take this over bio or chem any day!

Fritz is a weird little man-- everyone's always laughing. His tests and labs can be tough, and homework is very hard, but you get through it. His TFs are pretty good, but can be condescending (April). It wasn't as easy as I expected it to be, but it was better than the other sciences.

The fritz is amazing. He knows so much, and although he is old, he is still pretty current. You can tell he loves what he does. However, the homeworks are pretty hard and the midterms are medium-difficulty. The TA's are really helpful, or at least Alexis is.

Very nice man, but a third rate professor; should probably be doing research rather than teaching. Lectures are boring and nearly straight from the book. A lot of the exercises are pointless, i.e. homework and painfully long review sessions at the beginning of every class. TAs are awesome/helpful.

The TA's made this class okay. Lectures are kind of boring, but the powerpoint presentation isn't bad. Labs are very easy, hw is hard (TAs help) and overall it's much easier compared to chem/bio/physics to fill a requirement. Hes a pretty funny guy, nice, not greatest lecturer.

The man doesn't get a free pass because he's nice. His homework assignments hold no revelance and he's frusturating to listen to. It's tough to make astronomy boring but he succeeds with flying colors

Very managable class: not much work involved; show up to class and review the quiz questions from class for the test. 2 night labs a semester and a day lab every 2 weeks, 4 hw assignments. Fritz is pretty straightforward and willing to help. TF's are a huge help! (april and alexis) not a bad class.

Extremely boring class, I look around during class and see everyone asleep. I compare Fritz to Ben Stein in Ferris Bueller's Day Off, he's that boring. Homework is really tough, but not on tests. Overall, labs are easy and the class is prety easy.

FRITZ ROCKS!! He makes astronomy class interesting, and if you make an effort, you'll do well. The review questions are important to pay attention to when it comes to the tests. Homework problems are challenging, but are doable with effort.

Copy down the review questions at the beginning of class and make sure to study them for the tests. also make sure to go to the TFs for help on the HW, it is nearly impossible otherwise. pretty boring class over all
