Andy is the best professor you will ever have. It will definitely be a challenging class, but if you put effort into it you'll do well, and you'll come out seeing the world in a new way. Make sure you go to office hours, Andy is super nice and always wants to help. Also make sure you participate, that's the best way to learn in this class.

I came into the class expecting more film and less physics. If you are horrible at physics, like I am, the exams in this class is very difficult. Homework and labs are passed back very late so you won't know what your grades are. Labs are easy and are in class lab write ups. Movie screenings are dumb since half the class can't make it to them.

I cannot say enough good things about Prof Cohen. As a non-major I was scared coming into the class with zero math/science skills, and he was understanding of that and taught everything with clarity. He is extremely intelligent, and if you take the class seriously you will surprise yourself at the skills you gain and probably your high grade too

I did badly in his course because I have NO mathematical skills but he was really understanding and helpful regardless. I'm really thankful for his patience with me, he has a genuine interest in his students. If you take this course remember to speak up in class, let him know you're following the lecture. He's an angel!

One of the best classes I've ever taken. Unlike most classes, you won't come out knowing a specific topic, but you will be noticeably smarter. Despite being one of the smartest people I've ever met, Andy is very patient and nice. No matter who you are, you will benefit from this class

He actually made physics fun for me, not your average high school physics. we watched movies, ate free pizza, did cool experiments, you will learn a lot but don't expect great grades, this class usually hands out B's if your a genius and C's and D's for the rest of us. plus.. the TA's ARE HOTTTT!

Andy Cohen is BRILLIANT. He's an amazing professor and he's definitely willing to help you out in any way possible - he discusses/changes grades as long as you go to office hours and try. PY103 is great for non-science majors who just need to fulfill a requirement, it's actually fun which is weird to say in relation to physics.

Definitely the most intelligent person I have ever met, not only in physics but in every aspect of every subject. Class is fun and interesting. He is willing to discuss/change grades and is always available to explain concepts in office hours. Take this class if you need a science w/ lab requirement; you will not regret it.

PY 103 is a GREAT class. Take it if you have a chance. He tends to rush during class but is always available in office hours. Willing to discuss and usually raises grades if you are concerned... don't get lazy though because it's easy to fail (missing 2 assignments or a lab)

Harden up. Cause otherwise you'll feel insulted. He's brilliant knows stuff, and expects you to know about the topics...just 20 min wiki them before class. You will Learn how to play with numbers, no calculators on exams. Sometimes frustrating. Over all brilliant prof. I knew basic physics, but this has challenged me! He is a fun prof, awesome demo

GREAT MAN. so nice, so helpful- first exam was horrid, then the second two he told you if you were right or wrong on every question. Lectures interesting, good movies, easy assignments. Only problem with class? You need to get HIS way of thinking

great class. intended for students who just need to fulfill a science credit- mimimal homework, discussion never meets, labs only every few weeks. be sure to pay attention though- you don't realize how much youve learned until its exam time (2/sem plus final), but theyre straightforward. he loves to answer questions, both in class and during exams!

Cinema Physica, PY 103, is a great class if you are a non science major and need to take a lab credit. It is fun, intersting, and you get to deduce how many times Bruce Willis saves the day. Cohen is probably smarter than you (or any other living, breathing organism at BU), and once you get over that, he's hilarious.

he is a very good professor. its a lot, but its all the math you will need as a physics major in a semester. boas is a great book, you will use it over and over again as a reference for a very long time. Prof. Cohen was always very helpful in office hours. Watch out for his exams, especially the final!

Worst prof I've ever had. Made lots of ppl come close to crying in his office hours- he won't help you in office hours unless you answer a series of drills correctly right there and then. He loves to make ppl feel stupid.

covers a lot of material, and gives tons of hw. he's very helpful and willing to make changes in class to help students. Overall he's really nice, but expects too much and believes that people learned phyisics as in junior high school

You might feel like Cohen is making fun of you a lot. That's because he's much smarter than you. The good news is that he will make you a top-notch physics student. 355 covered things in a week that other professors took months to cover. Cohen's course contains no bull, everything is worth remembering.

Probably the hardest class I've taken so far. Teaches very fast and the class covers a lot of material. On the other hand, he's always willing to help in office hours, even if he does inadvertantly make you feel like a moron in the process. Plus, he's a freakin' genius.
