I took this class for my major and absolutely loved it. The reading is a bit heavy but overall it is interesting and you can get away with not reading an article here and there. Really interesting and engaging lectures

Kahn is an incredibly lovely professor. I took a class way outside my field of interest but she actually got me reading the source material and appreciating what she was talking about.

Had her last semester for Art History and really liked her. This semester she has been fine, but man her emails are tough!! She is always saying she wants students to reach out with questions, but whenever I do reach out she makes me feel stupid for even asking a question. Not really sure how I feel about her. She is usually super nice!

Professor Kahn is a lovely and kind professor. Final criteria was pleasantly clear, which was practically the only written work all semester. Only warning is that the lectures can be hard to pay attention to.

Not to be a bootlicker but prof. kahn has become one of my absolute favorite professors. I took her class only because it's required for my major, otherwise I wouldn't because I never had an interest in medieval art. But Kahn is a delight, and a great person to get to know. Super passionate. I'm taking another medieval course in the fall with her.

Professor Kahn was super nice and had many extra credit opportunities available. However, she is not the best public speaker, making her lectures quite difficult to understand (which were super dense so be prepared if history isn't your thing). If you go to lectures and take good notes you shouldn't need to actually read the textbook.

Professor Kahn is a really nice lady, but the material is SO boring. She's not a very interesting speaker and her slides have SO much historical information that you don't need at all for papers or exams, but she gives a lot of guidelines and instructions and tells you exactly what you need to know for the exam which makes it much more manageable.

Such a let down after having Kleiner for the first half. She doesn't actually explain anything in lectures she just shows you pictures of the study images and says what it is. Spends too much time on history (which is not on the exam). You can get away with skipping lectures but definitely go to discussions. She seems nice just not a good lecturer

After absolutely loving Kleiner, I was disappointed by Professor Kahn. Well she seems like a very sweet woman her lectures are extremely dull. She clicks through slides to fast for you to write anything down, speaks to quietly, and hardly ever updates the website as much as Kleiner did. Class attendance nearly halved during her portion class

Deborah is absolutely the best personality I've come across at BU. She is kind, intelligent and her sense of humor is wonderful. She always managed to make me laugh every class. Readings are helpful but Deborah goes over everything you'll need to know. She is passionate about her field and makes the content very interesting, TAKE THIS CLASS!

She is the kindest professor you will ever encounter. Don't be an idiot student- show up to class, stay awake, and go to office hours. You get what you put in- she makes sure of that. She is funny and tries to really get you to understand the material and the motivations behind the arts' creation. Don't criticize her just because you are lazy.

I really don't enjoy the lectures (dull), but she really knows her stuff. She is super helpful if you ask questions, but I feel she can be too passionate at times and get a little carried away. I am not a fan of the writing your "feelings" either, but I see where she is going with it.

She's a nice lady, but honestly very difficult to listen to, her lectures are so boring. The class goes from interesting and informative to insufferable. Attendance rate definitely goes down in the second half of this class!

She would have been a great professor had she not followed Kleiner (the 1st professor), but after that kind of bar being set, she fell a little short. Sit towards the front, and keep all the slide lists.

Professor Kahn is one of the best professors I have had at BU! Her enthusiasm is infectious, she is interesting, incredibly helpful, and cares about you as an individual and how you do in the class. I would highly recommend any class she teaches.

Although I preferred Prof. Kleiner (teaches 1st half of semester), Kahn is very good. Very passionate/knowledgeable about medieval art. PowerPoints/handouts are helpful, and she tells you everything you need to study for the exam (she bolds important topics). Highly recommend taking this class.

Kahn is absolutely wonderful. Although I hear she is not as great with large lectures, such as 111 or 112, she admits this herself. Our class was about 15 people, and she always catered to us individually. She is very flexible with deadlines, so if you have any issues or problems, please don't hesitate to talk to her! She is very intelligent.

One of the only professors I've ever had who gets that her class isn't the only one her students are taking. She is very understanding and easy to talk to and she really cares about her subject and her students.
