Comment:
Slow, monotone speaker and repeats everything over and over again. This professor makes it very very difficult to pay attention during lectures.

Comment:
Writes the worst code I've ever seen in a professor. Expects students to remember what his abbreviated variables and functions mean when he could easily write their names out (he doesn't for all of them, but it happens frequently enough to warrent writing this rating). He hardly comments his code, which makes understanding it more difficult.

He is the nicest teacher you never want to teach you. His lectures are mind numbingly boring. Very unorganized. You can not ask him for explanation, b/c he either doesn't know it or will tell you to go watch a Youtube video about it, or because half of the class is wasted on waiting in line GIVING THE HOMEWORK VIA USB!

Comment:
The course was data structures and algorithms, but there was barely any focus on that, instead we had arbitrary assignments on drawing shapes in the console. Every professor that had expectations for what I was supposed to learn in this class is surprised that we did not talk about the most basic things.

Typically lectures half of the class and then grades homework the last half of the class.

Comment:
It feels like he goes off the script of what is actually suppose to be taught in the course. You can easily get an A if you pay attention and understand how to program but you will not learn everything you are suppose to, and lecture feels like a waste of time. If you can take someone else, do it. If not, teach yourself more outside of class

There is barely any lecture time. He refuses to accept submissions online and requires students to bring in USB's. Then he proceeds to waste most of the class period grading individual assignments with an actual line of students waiting to get their homework graded. This is a very regular thing in all of his classes.

He's honestly a good professor though I see why people might not like him. Sometimes it can be a bit difficult to understand him, but if you ask questions or talk to him you can work things out. He normally gives a new programming assignment each week and if you have trouble you can ask him for help and he is always willing to give extensions

Dr. Nicolio is a great prof, he tried very hard to make everything easy for the student. I took two courses with him, and I'm going to take two more next semester.
