Comment:
A month in to a course on Operating Systems, he should not begin lecture by asking "What is an Operating System"...but that's all the further his lectures had made it. Nice person, but I learned very little in his course. The course requires you to have taken Computer Architecture, but he starts assuming you know virtually nothing about computers.

Avoid any class with this retired out-dated professor. He has nothing to give. You will learn nothing. His class was one of my worst school experiences I have been through ever! And no he is NOT a nice guy. The only good ratings are the ones he wrote about himself. if u have taken classes with him you would know for sure that those are his words!

Avoid this class. You will not learn much, except which of your teammates are slackers, which you probably already know. Test questions are pretty useless, jokes made in class. He's a nice guy and it's hard not to feel sorry for him but still...

He is the worst Computer Science teacher I have ever had. The information he teaches is completely worthless in the real world. Tests are scantron, up to 80 questions, and most of the questions are completely ambiguous. Attendance accounts for a large part of your grade. My advice is to stay away from any Luk class if you possibly can.

Nice guy, but... OMG I wanted to die sitting thru his class. Bring laptop and tune out; it's the only survival strategy. Attendance is mandatory, or nobody would attend. How many weeks do we get LECTURES on VI? Why isn't this entire class in a lab -- it ain't lecture material!

Oh. My. GOD. WORST professor of all time. I swear this class made me dumber. Not only are his lectures a complete joke (as he spends most lectures reviewing previous lectures) but some of the material he is teaching is outright wrong. He is a nice guy, but that does not change the fact that taking his class made me want to change majors.

Lecture is boring and hard to stay awake. He lectures on Unix and uses Windows strictly. If he tells you that some thing will not be on a test you better remember it because it will be on the test. Spent two weeks or more lecturing on Regex. Nice guy, but sucks as instructor. This is what happens when they get tenure.

What can I say? He spent 9 weeks going over the state transition diagram in a class that is supposed to cover that in one week, and then go on to buffer-overflows, syncronization, etc from an OS implementor's perspective. Fire him.

This gut is so bad that going to your classes makes you more stupid. He make you think suicide before each class. My advice is to not buy the book, go to class, just sit back online and chat on myspace and forget you were there... I got a B+ Write this on

He made me understand reliability of OS Programming and interrupts. However, his attempts to lighten up students during a test may not be appreciated unless you attend class. Attend class.

Attendance is vital. He askes students trivial questions in class. The midterm was a ridiculous 80+ multiple choice test, the final was 150+. Didn't study, didn't pay attention, bullsh!ted a B-. Don't bother trying to learn just complete the requirement

I'm not quite sure why Chico State let's somebody who can barely speak english teach a computer science class. The lecture is basically a waste of time and, personally, I played solitare on my laptop during his entire lecture most of the semester.

I had this instructor for database. It's not a hard class at all, and he'll give vague tests with lazy grading. When he grades, even if you give a huge answer that's in the ballpark, he'll write "not clear" and dock almost all the points.

Rediculously easy. Didn't learn anything, but his midterm consisted of questions like: What's a driver? someone over 16, software that controls hardware, someone with a car, and all of the above. HELL of a nice guy though. Guaranteed A.
