I failed level one 4 times - it frustrated for me- but admittedly you learned things. You never want to skip that test return day - that why i failed all the time. I don't know - It just me slacking but if you ready for some beating and real skills, you are in for a treat - don't just take my word and think like "I can handle this" consider deeply.

Excellent prof, great sense of humor. Never taking a PHIL course before I was a little lost from time to time but if you pay attention, you learn a lot. Justin is very! strict with grammar, be warned. Also, a good portion of your mark is class participation. I would recommend this class to anyone looking for an interesting and engaging elective!

Good philosophy teacher, makes the course easy to learn. You have to attend class to get what the course is about, but if you do, guaranteed to get a good mark. Only hw is reading plus small essay for his ethics course. definately take him if you need a good mark in an elective course

OMG, everyone needs to take a class with Justin! The class I took was mind-blowing. Two of my friends took philosophy of religion with him back when he was at UVic in '05. To this day, they say it's one of the defining moments of their lives. Check out his comments on the UVic RMP. I can't wait to take it here! Keep it up, Justin. You rock.

He respects thoughtful students, whatever they believe, and it's amazing how he can see things from all sides. If you don't want to work, stay away. If you want someone to respect your dumb ideas for no reason, you're in trouble. Take Justin's classes is to train hard and to learn more than ever. Otherwise, don't bother with him (or school).

Justin is the best philosophy professor at this school bar none. Not for the sensitive - he will make you question your most deeply held beliefs without you even realizing how he's doing it! I imagine how some people would find this uncomfortable...but they are the ones who shouldn't be in philosophy anyways.

Wow!!! I was iffy about Justin at first, but now I am so impressed. He is so hilarious he should be one of those awkwardly endearing standup comedians. He makes the entire class laugh out loud all the time! And cares very much about his students, will do anything to help. Wants to be your friend and teacher. Amazing. Mal is lucky to have him!
