She doesn't care if you fail or pass. She is a cold hearted person. I wouldn't recommend anyone to take this nightmare. She's not even caring for others. When you ask for help it's useless b/c she won't give you none! She's that type of teacher that has no feelings for students.

In 2004, Marlene made us read an dobe ju hoisi ethnographie. It was a really influential moment in my academic career and one of the reason I am actually a PhD candidate.

This teacher is so horrible in her way of teaching. She seems to be nice but she gives amount of reading (60 to 100 pages! per week). If you can don't take her but if you need too, do all the reading even if most of the times the teacher herself doesn't seems to read them.

This teacher is literaly the worst. She's desorganised, uncomprehensible, she doesn't seems to know the materials. She acts childishly about critism. AVOID AND RUN THE OTHER WAY.

Comment:
Hopelessly disorganized, it is unclear which of the MANY readings assigned are actually required and which are optional. Also, she assigned a text book from 15 years ago! Disorganized lectures, unknowledgeable about the course material....extremely frustrating. AVOID.

this course is so boring! The main reason is because the teacher doesn't know the material and she's not organise. Run, never take her if you want to stay alive in your class.

She is extremely unorganized, doesn't even seem to know course material, provides lecture notes but has to ask students to "ignore the spelling errors". No flow to lectures, provides about 100 pages of reading every week but only tells you which ones are mandatory a few days before class. Would never take her again.

Comment:
If you have troubles submitting your final take-home paper on time, you may ask for date extension as long as you have acceptable reasons. However, she grading her students seems to be unfair, based on her favouritism. Although she has lots experiences teaching this course, she is very disorganized. Most of her lecture notes are unavailable online!

Approachable but disorganized, passionate but scatter-brained, knowledgeable but dogmatic, and nice body image but tough grader! I do not highly recommed her because she makes this course much harder than any 200-level courses. Avoid her at all costs!

I am very speechless, for she just could not teach! Although she was approachable and passionate, with very nice body image, she still behaved somewhat impatiently when teaching. The final grade she gave me did not affect my performance. The only good thing was that she was a good story-teller in her class so that you may enjoy them!

I got B+ on her short essay assignment. After that, I got A on her midterm exam. However, since she did not return our final take-home exam, I still do not know how I did it. Although I thought I did it well, she still gave me B+ for my final grade. Later, I made her an appointment to discuss about my grade, she ignored me! She's a bad marker! Run~

I do not understand how she could finish her undergraduate study at Concordia University and how she could finish her graduate study at McGill University. She seemed to be somewhat impatient when teaching. She enjoyed putting something irrelevant to the course on Moodle. Also, she had problems when grading her students. So, avoid her at all costs!

Although she certainly knows what she's talking about and has a lot of firsthand experience and interesting theories, the class was really aimless and she was usually unprepared. The material was pretty biased to one view. Questions were on the midterm that were not taught or discussed. The final exam however was easy and take-home

If you want to put everything on Anthropology and Contemporary Issues in your mind, take with her. If you want to wait for the last minute finishing assigned readings before midterm and final take-home exams, avoid her! Her study guide questions are a lot; you will have no enough time keeping your readings and reviewing your study guide. Awful!

She is a really tough and confused marker, though she teaches 200-level courses. Her lectures are totally disorganized and super boring. However, she does not like putting her notes on Moodle. The requirements of her short essay assignment are unclear. Her midterm exam is hard. And, her final take-home exam is tricky. Her study guide is a lot!

She might accept any late assignments, as long as you have reasonable reasons. However, when she graded her students, she was somewhat unfair. If you want to discuss with her about your grades by sending her emails, she might not answer you. Overall, sometimes she was girl-like and approachable. But, sometimes she was rude, unfair, and dogmatic.

Comment:
She was not helpful and clear, though she was very approachable. Her lectures were boring because she just read her notes in front of the class so quickly that we were unable to write them down. She always did not put her lecture notes on Moodle. Also, her grading scheme was confused because sometimes, she graded her students based on favoritism!

This is my first time to take with her. Although she is very approachable, kind, and knowledgeable, she is an extremely tough grader. It is very hard to finish her assigned readings weekly because every week, we must read at least three long articles. Her first short essay assignment is confused, whereas her final take-home examination is tricky!
