Comment:
Physics at this school is not easy in the slightest, but Reynolds does a good job at explaining topics. He has lecture videos recorded that you should watch before class each week to help you learn. Weekly Pearson assignments are okay but can be difficult at times. Helpful if you ask questions. Definitely go to SI sessions for any physics you take.

Like most physics courses at this school, all that matter are the midterms and final. However, this professor really understands how the material is supposed to be taught and his lectures make the book so much easier to understand. Wave mechanics, thermodynamics, and optics are covered. Unfortunately, there is also Pearson.

Comment:
An extremely poor 'teacher'. Most of his class has a 50 or below and when we ask for help or advice, he calls us children and kindergarteners. If most of a class does poorly, that is the professor's fault; if only a few fail that the students fault. He would rather insult, belittle, and berate students than take the time to actually help.

Dr. Reynolds expects 100% of the learning to be on your part. Each week he expects you to read multiple text chapters, do ALL of the worked examples and exercises. No one has time for that, so naturally, it's difficult. He isn't much help in office hours.

Professor Reynolds lectures enthusiastically, which makes it easy to stay engaged. His lectures are heavily application focused. The material is difficult, and he grades extremely harshly on tests. To prepare for tests he suggests you redo all homework and in-text problems, which is 80+ problems per test, not possible with a full course load.

Comment:
Dr. Reynolds is an excellent professor who gives amazing and engaging lectures. PS250 is probably one of the hardest courses you will have to take as an engineer unless E&M is your thing. With that being said, Dr. Reynolds works extremely hard to make sure everyone understands but YOU have to seek him for help. I pass/failed his class so no grade.

Professor Reynolds is my favorite teacher, he is easily accessible even when you don't want to talk about physics. On the flip side, this class is very difficult in comparison to the other physics teacher, there is a quiz once a week covering the chapter and if you do not do any kind of studying you are done for. That said the questions are fair.

He's a great professor! We had weekly quizzes that were based on the reading and suggested hw (homework not required. But if you don't read the chapter, you'll fail the quizzes). He thoroughly taught test & quiz material and is available after class during office hours & always responds to email at a fast pace. He makes lectures fun & interesting!

Reynolds is an amazing professor. He is quite entertaining and cares about his students. However, his class is a little difficult. He gives weekly quizzes and takehome quizzes. Those quizzes help test your understanding of the material. He gives good lectures.

Reynolds is great and funny. He's one of the most entertaining profs I've had. However, his class is challenging and you will get the grade that you work for. That being said, all of his HW and quiz problems are the test content, but there are so many of them. He does curve slightly and gives take-home quizzes to help you.

Reynolds is SO picky with how he grades. Be sure you understand his grading criteria, or you'll regret it. He doesn't make it mandatory to do any of the example problems in the textbook, but I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT! These problems are almost exactly like the ones on the test!

Has an outline that's easy to follow in theory, but you really have to put the effort in to make it work. The lectures are never boring. If you need help, ask for it and he'll explain until you understand.

He really knows the material and loves teaching. Tests are like the homework. Lectures are hysterical and informative. Tough grader on the homework though, you have to show all units in every step. Has a very specific step by step process for solving problems, provides plenty of examples. You have to explain the physics before calculations.

This class was one of my favorites. Dr. Reynolds is a very knowledgeable and helpful professor. Go to him with problems and concerns and he will do his best (provided you work to better yourself) to help. Offers lots of extra credit throughout the semester. Be prepared for tests and make sure to have clear, logical work on all of your problems.

Very interesting and enjoyable class! Essentially you attend the physics colloquiums the department conducts and write a single page paper about the experience. Make sure to ask at least one question of the speaker and include it in your paper. Easy class that I took for honors credit. Dr. Reynolds knows his stuff and is friendly and approachable.

Requires a lot of writing and explaining but you'll figure out how to write less and still get full points. Once you get his grading, it's just a matter of not plugging in the wrong numbers in your calculator. He's also hilarious and really tries to keep physics interesting. Integrates a lot of sports into physics problems. 10/10 would take again

I have to say Dr. Reynolds are one of the best Physics teacher I've ever had. He knows how to explain physics, E&M is a tough subject in general, but Reynolds makes it easy to understand. I would take him again If possible.

When I initially thought of taking professor reynolds, I looked at his rating on here. I thought the class was going to be impossible. Well, I was SO wrong. Dr. Reynolds if one of the best professors I have had in my life. Hands down. He is clear.Available during office hours. If one works hard, his class is easy. Would recommend!

Dude is awesome. I had him for classical and plasma. If you don't do well in class it's because you suck as a student. Any PS class should be a cake walk. EP is where the fun begins. Take him. Drink from the fire hydrant. You will not be disappointed. If you have bad handwriting, that is just poor taste. Fix it!
