Dahm was a fair teacher, he was difficult but he did his best to prepare you for the exams. There was only homework once a week and if you ever have questions he would set up a one on one zoom. He would also answer emails within the hour. Its not easy, but what engineering course is?

Dahm is a great professor for those who already have a good Chemistry background. If you are new to chemistry, an already tough subject, this class WILL NOT BE EASY. This class drove my life. I would strongly recommend this professor ONLY if you have the time to go to his office hours and to study very long hours.

Dahm is the man! He will make you work like crazy with all the homework, quizzes and exams. You will hate having your whole world revolve around his class. But it will be all worth it in the end. Just put in a few all-nighters and actually try to understand what you do in the course and I guarantee that you will not forget what you learned.

He is a really nice guy but you will work your butt off till the point you have to dedicate every moment of your life to chemistry and you still will not be prepared for the final. Good luck

Dahm is Awesome! He has been without a doubt my favorite teacher here. I have had him for Chem 1 and Chem 2. He is a little out there, but in a good way. I cannot lie his tests are hard, but if you are having trouble he is awesome 1 on 1. I suggest all ChemE's take him. He is a very smart guy.

Dahm can be hard, but thats because chem is hard. Hopefully you took AP chem, then this class is an easy review like for me. Otherwise, STUDY. and do the BUNCH of extra credit he gives! You should then get an A. He is alot better than others! Take him!

Do the homework, and participate. The hardest class I've ever taken but one of the most helpful. If you do all the homework and bomb all the tests you still should end up with a B.

I only learned about 10% of what was taught in this course in high school and I still got an A. The trick is to work hard and seek help, which he's more than willing to give. You can't be lazy in this class for a moment. And it's worth mentioning the man is borderline insane, but it makes lectures entertaining.

Difficult if student has never taken an AP chem class. For those who have, Dahm makes the class enjoyable even though material is all a review.

Class is literally impossible. Advanced chem 1 was the worst experience of my life. Coolest teacher you could find, hes hilarious but if you are not a fan of chem or had no prior experience, youre completely screwed. Do all the homework and read all the labs beforehand. Pretty bad teacher but good one on one

He was so unclear with his instructions and seemed to fiddle all over the place. Def. not organized with teaching or anything. Although he was sometimes enthusiastic, he failed to capture interest and didn't teach in my learning style to the point that I learned nothing. Had Adv. Chem II with a different prof. and was much more interested.

Dahm is an AWESOME guy. Sometimes he makes no sense and he does give a ton of homework. BUT if you keep up (which if you take his class you MUST) then you can most definitely get an A. He grades fairly and allows test correction points. i would definitely take him again (I am now) especailly because the other teachers are TERRIBLE. ChemEs TAKE HIM

Dr. Dahm is a very nice guy. His class is extremely hard, but what do you expect for advanced chemistry. I studied my ass off and pulled an A-. His tests are hard, but he allows test corrections. His homework is tedious, but he allows for extra credit. Study, and you will do fine.

Avpid taking him if you can!! Nice guy and very friendly, but horrible teacher! Doesn't explain anything well and gives extremely confusing lectures! Tests are hard because he tells you the wrong things to study. He offers a ton of extra credit, but your final grade is based on what your exam average is so the extra credit doesn't help too much.

The class requires a whole lot of commitment, but it's worth it. Theres quizzes about twice a week, as long as you keep up with the material you'll be fine. He offers a ton of extra help and is always in a good mood

Im not going to sit and say that he's hard because the class itself is hard. But Prof. Dahm is a little on the mental side, he spits a lil so watch out..lol. But he doesnt really explain everything for your understanding, he expects you to know it already which isnt that much of a help. But he does let you do corrections and available most of time.

I don't see what everyone else's problem with him is. The class itself is hard, we have quizzes two thirds of the days we are there, but as long as you keep up with the material, you'll be fine. Getting more than half wrong and still getting a B is not rare. he's quite crazy though.
