Comment:
Absolutely pathetic teacher. Did not teach a single bit-- not an exaggeration. All he did was give us readings, and then give us an exam on it. We had absolutely no explanation of the texts and he was pathetic in replying to emails. He is an accomplished sociologist but absolute joke as a professor. Don't waste your time and money on him.

Worst professor I've ever had. Incomprehensible, and "useless" is a good way to describe him. Unresponsive to emails, unclear at assignments, never returns any work. I was excited to take this class and found it to be a colossal waste of my tuition money.

I had him for Organized Crime. Really intelligent guy; kinda like the grandpa you always wanted but never got with a degree in criminology to boot. Lots of reading, lots of discussion, and a lot of really vague tests and assignments. But overall, if you do the work and know the readings at least in a holistic way, you'll be fine.

The smartest professor I've ever had. Only allowed 3 absenses, but going to class is enjoyable and rewarding. Listen to what he has to say! Really gets you to learn the information, and he clearly knows what he is talking about. A lot of readings, but they are worth it and for the most part interesting. Awesome & compassionate, wants you to do well

Chambliss is unclear about the requirements of the course, but is awesome. You may get slightly offended considering he is open to sharing his political views. Liberals will love him. Grades harder at first and ligthens up by the end of the course.

Chambliss is a cool guy although the requirements of the class are not that clear. He does tell awesome stories, but he is very one-sided and clearly liberal.

Great class. All his required texts were by him, however, they were thoroughly engaring and pertinent. Great lectures. You may not like it if you're conservative tho.

Chambliss not only tells great stories but his books are also interesting. Make sure to do the reading so you're prepared for pop quizzes. He takes attendance every day which plays a role in grading at the end of the semester. Go to his office hours, if he knows who you are and that you're trying hard he's likely to give you a better grade.

Bill Chambliss is the definition of a great professor. He grabs your attention on day one, and has it for years to come. He is a true "expert" in his field, unlike other professors that say they are. Every university should be as fortunate at GW to have a dedicated, understanding Professor such as Professor Chambliss.

The best class I've ever taken. Bill is an awesome professor with more knowledge in CJ than any professor at GW. Highly recommend any class with him. Get to know him--your grade is proportional to his ability to recognize you.

chambliss is awesome, but watch out for his pop quizzes. if given the opportunity, do the extra credit! the first half of the semester is worse than the second. readings are either really boring or really interesting.

The man knows his field. His lectures oftentimes are about his crazy life in the field of Sociology. His books are the required readings for the class and are very interesting. YOU MUST GO TO CLASS THOUGH! I definitely recommend him.

Very approachable professor. I worked on a paper for another class and went to see him for insight and he was extrememly helpful, resourceful, knowledgeable and patient. This is a professor you really want to get to know, oh say, for recommendations.

One of my favorite proffesors. Very enthusiastic, which is one of his detriments, fanatically liberal, I mean i'm liberal, but wow. He's fun though, makes class enjoyable.
