He is very understanding and generous with giving deadline extensions if you ask- his priority is clearly getting you to produce the best work that you can. He'll passive-aggressively call you out in class if he feels that your work was subpar, too- his little way of lighting a fire under you to do your best. Brilliant man, excellent instructor.

Prof. Clary is amazing. You will work extremely hard, but it is worth every penny. I had him for senior seminar and worked to my utmost potential. He is amazing and makes his students work hard. St. Mikes wouldn't be the same without him

First had him for "Milton." I earned a D..and I do mean "earned" it. Very demanding Prof. but he really made me know and love Milton. Then I had him for senior sem. Still very demanding but looking back he got me to produce the best work I could. He'll make you grow up fast. Thanks Prof. C

Clary is a very hard teacher, particularly his first year seminar course; however, if you cannot handle any academic challenge, perhaps college isn't quite the place for you. Clary was an amazing teacher who really wanted to inspire curiosity in his students. He is a fantastic asset to the College.

Without question the best professor at saint mikes. He is very demanding and difficult overall, but he is a once in a lifetime professor and is just as impressive as a person. Easily the most dedicated professional i have ever met.

INCREDIBLE PROFESSOR. I had Clary my 1st semester and was not expecting the workload. It was a very steep learning curve but completely worth it. Very interesting, very thought-provoking course, one of the best I have ever taken.

Awesome professor, one of the best you will ever have! Although the course load was significantly more than I had anticipated, the discussions were enjoyable and he raises a lot of thought-provoking questions. Definitely take a course with him before you graduate.

I am lazy. Because of this there were times when the work load drove me nuts. However, if you are at all interested, you will learn not what to think, as is so often the case these days, but HOW to think and articulate those thoughts in a way you never thought possible. One of those once-in-a-lifetime professors. They don't get any better.

He was the best professor i've ever had for english. He was only there half of the semester due to health reasons, but when the teacher was changed it drastically changed the class. He is very knowledgeable and can easily help you with any paper. He is very fair and willing to let you re-do any work that you need to. Best Prof in the department :o)

Best professor I've had at st mikes. he is very demanding but if you do the work it is definitely rewarding. No tests or quizzes which is sick but he expects everyone to participate and if you arent one for doing that then don't take a class with him. A lot of writing but overall a very managable class.

Well liked by art students. Taking this class as an elective was a big mistake. He gave me tough grades when I was working hard, my worst grade at St Mike's this class a D. Also had the impression he didn't like my Boston accent not understanding discussing final grades. He needs to listen more towards all walk of students not just art majors.
