Comment:
He talks about topics he finds interesting and can go on when engaged. Otherwise, students "teach" the class with the presentation assignment. You can be absent for weeks like I was or even just sit there and do work for other classes and get an A because he picks tests questions that students submit.

Class is a terrible joke! "Teaches" as he goes; everything is very unclear and confusing. You have a presentation, a midterm, and a final. He makes you turn in questions & paragraphs each week on the topics of the week. Literally copies and pastes students questions and answers for the tests. Easy class but he's a terrible teacher!

Avoid this and any other CSPC313; don't waste your time. I learned nothing from this class except that this teacher is lazy and makes students do pointless work that he then copies and puts on the exams. During my presentation, he was doing the Daily Titan sudoku. Shows how much he's invested. I don't understand why he's still working here.

Maybe the nicest guy I have ever met. That being said this class is a joke. You have a presentation and two tests. I am pretty sure he does not fail anyone so if he likes you and you do semi well on the tests you will pass.

I am in shock. He's still there? I took him in 1978 (yes, when Jimmy Carter was president). He hasn't changed a bit. Is he still Dept. Chair? I learned a lot from the class, but nothing from him. A few of us students banded together and taught ourselves. Class was assembly language on a CDC-3150. He was pushing the IEEE back then, too.

He is suppose to be teaching a Computer impact class yet he makes you watch political debates and tries to teach you about the American government while he speaks with a Greek accent. The entire class is taught through student presentations. He doesn't make his own test, he takes questions that students submit and make tests out of them.

Ok so I don't even know where to begin. He was always late, answered his phone in class and always interrupted the students while they were giving a presentation. He was very unclear about grading, it's impossible to know what hes talking about, and he made students feel dumb. But surprisingly,I didn't hate him. He was fun and quirky.

Took him for the summer, and was extremely nice!! He is a bit boring when he lectures, but he is really trying to teach you real lessons you will need for life. I think he is misunderstood....his tests are a bit scatter-brained, but he uses a teaching method of the students teaching each other. I recommend him only if you have patience!!

I am somewhat disappointed to hear that my fellow students got easy As despite their evident ignorance. This professor seemed to have a low tolerance for morons, and would sometimes interrupt student presentations with rants on the subject, so I thought his standards would be higher. Fun class, though, and the prof is a colorful character.

IF you want a really easy A take this class! But if you want to learn anything take another class. All you do is two presentations and two tests. It is a very easy A but the professor is really dumb. I would take this class again if I could just to bring up my GPA.

Oh hell no, attended the 1st day and that is all it took for me to get this class swapped for another class. Basically, he has the students teach the class. Then they're suppose to submit questions, he takes those questions and creates the test. So the students do all the work. No thanks. I'll take the class with another teacher next semester.

Students teach the class while he collects paychecks. Everyday students give presentations and he never gives lectures. He doesnt even make the tests on his own, students submit test q's and he uses those for the test. Waste of time, can't believe i paid for this

Easiest A ever. Didn't buy the book, didn't study for the tests, did all 2 assignments, took all 2 tests. Got an A. His tests are short answer, if you write anything you get 1/2 credit.

The dude is a party. I took him for the summer though, so he might be different in a regular semester. He's very unorganized so make sure you stay on top of things.

I am glad I didn't listen to all of the negative comments about this prof. I took him for summer school, what a breeze. It's interesting and the class does the lectures. 2 presentations and 2 tests which are super easy!! I enjoyed it.

I like that he encourages his students to THINK rather than MEMORIZE. I took him for summer, and his class was a mess. Didn't get sylibus til midterm. Has poor prof skills (like record keeping), but he's an ok guy. Knowledgeable about computer industry.
