Comment:
I had mixed feelings about Dr. Kallio at first. He does tend to rant about unimportant topics, but he is so genuine about topic. He's more than willing to help you understand something during office hours. He shows relevant and entertaining videos, which is nice. Overall, I would recommend.

Cannot follow his lectures during class. He rambles on about things that don't matter. One midterm and one final both taken online, and two papers. Doable if you cram a few days before each test. I would take it with another professor.

WORST PROFESSOR OF MY ENTIRE UNDERGRAD. Literally made my life awful. When I went for help he flipped over my textbook and said try this website and shoed me out his door. (The website was still not helpful). His class and atitude almost made me want to drop out freshmen year.

He is a nice person but dreadfully boring... He rambles so much and makes awkward eye contact with students. It's difficult to stay awake in the class. Tests and papers are very difficult. His PowerPoints are all online but still confusing. I didn't like this class at all and i would recommend a different professor.

He's such a nice guy. He's opinionated and loves what he's teaching. Quizzes are tough no doubt you just have to go to class and you have to read the book. He's dorky and it's a little amusing haha... he means well, explains things well, overall worth taking.

Love this professor. He's really not as bad as everyone says he is- he prepares you well for the research paper, he wants you to do well. He won't spoon feed you the material, but I mean this is a COLLEGE class. I think he does his job very well- so far this has been one of the best classes I've taken at Geneseo. Read the book, you WILL do fine.

He's really boring. Classes are so long because of that. His tests are really hard if you don't read the book. I don't need this class, even as a psych major, its a huge mistake and it will probably mess up my GPA.

it is a difficult class, but dr. kallio is extremely helpful and it turned out to be my favorite class of the semester. you learn a lot about the research process while doing 3 experiments and writing 3 papers. ask for help on the papers before they're due and you will do well. he's my favorite professor at geneseo. he's extremely intelligent!

He is a nice guy but his class is painfully boring. I had so much trouble staying awake and focused, especially since he tends to get off topic, or ramble about the same topic for 45 minutes. He emphasizes things that are obvious, as if we're stupid, but skims over confusing things. The class itself is very doable, though. Hard, but doable.

A LOT of uncomfortable eye contact. Extremely intelligent, however the class can get a little boring. However I think he does explain things well and he wants you to do good. Extra credit is available, weekly homework assignments are okay and as long as you do it you get credit for them. Multiple choice on tests is hard, STUDY and you will do fine.

he is incredibly full of himself. he thinks that he's the best thing in the world. he does NOT know how to run a department. his office has a fireplace when the adjuncts are way overcrowded considering i got better teaching from an adjunct (tomzack) i found this ironic.

he's incredibly boring, but extremely intelligent. he's not as bad as everyone says, and he's very helpful if you have any questions. my suggestion is to read the chapters once and highlight, then before a test read what you highlighted, because he apparently expects you to read the chapter 4 times, which is a joke. work hard and you'll be fine!

Comment:
DO NOT TAKE FOR PSYC251. It was horrible. Especially at 8:30. He is very knowledgeable, but expects us to know pretty much what he knows. It is quite difficult. The final research paper is such a pain and hard to write. I went in for help on it and did all the things he told me to do and still got a D. I have never done so poorly in a class.

Awful, resembles a turtle, pauses obscenely at the end of every sentence and insists on an uncomfortable amount of eye contact. if you are stuck taking him DO NOT TAKE IT AT 8:30 AM with him, absolutely frustrating to understand and handle that early. you need to read the book and go to class. tests aren't horrible.
