Comment:
I've taken 12 credits with Tomsons and she is currently the supervisor for my honours thesis. She is very very very disorganized! However, she is very willing to engage you in philosophical conversation, and to grant extensions. Her lectures are bizarre, but do the readings and participate vocally and classes will be enjoyable.

If you can do anything to avoid having her as a prof, do it. She is very unclear in her lectures and goes all over the place. She gives virtually no notes which makes everything much more difficult. Not a good experience.

She is an awful teacher, extremely hard to pay attention and hear for that matter. She pretty much just tells you about the textbook the whole time, which is also extremely dull and biased. She doesn't accept any opinions other than her own and bruce Morito (she loves him) who wrote the textbook.

Comment:
this prof has some really awful opinions or an almost grudge like dislike for science and has stated many times that the worth of subjective experience is equal to that of objective experience. she is almost never clear about anything she "teaches". she is very deaf, if you want to disagree with her you will have to yell and repeat your self a lot.

Very hard to understand, unclear of what she means and she has some very skewed views of philosophy, she skips over many major philosophers to focus in her friends book and most things your read she has written or been an editor for so she will mark your opinions wrong. Don't take her classes

Sandra Tomsons, while passionate about philosophy, is a horrid instructor. She is extremely unorganized, and lost my mid-term exam, so I had no feedback available. She expected student to be able to write a highly philosophical paper, despite the course having no pre-req's. She may do great research, but she is the worst instructor I have ever had.

Worst prof I have had in university. Extremely unorganized and unclear. Loves to blow her own horn and criticize student opinions, while letting you know she has a doctorate and her ideas are more valid than your own. Would never recommend, but she didn't let our class do a course evaluation so the uni will never know how I feel

One of the most endangering experiences I have ever had in dealing with a professor of this nature in the faculty. Sandra has many views which I did not agree with. Putting it mildly, unclear of what expectations she has of her students.

She is a very nice lady and is ready to help if you need it. Class was fairly dry. Thought there would be more discussions because the topics were fairly interesting, but it was just her talking. Assignments take a long time to get marked.

I took first year Philo with Tomsons. She's an extremely nice lady, but so incredibly disorganized. I was so utterly disappointed by her class. She was always late, led confusing/disjoined lectures, and rarely used the textbook. She was a generous marker though...

This was one of the most difficult classes I have ever had. She is nice and friendly but unable to clarify concepts or answer questions to help students in class. Unclear objectives, deadlines and expectations. I would suggest taking this class with a different prof.

She is the most unorganized teacher ever!! Doesn't follow syllabus, doesn't give mark before the following paper. Didn't give any form of mark before the volunteer withdrawl date. All over the map. Everyone in the class thinks she's the worst teacher they've ever had! Do not take her as a prof! seriously. take course with somoene else!
