amazing. love her! She tends to give more consistent assignments so that your grade is based on much more than just a couple of exams. super nice person, always willing to help! Very interactive classes, she loves when you participate. She is also pretty organized. your attendance matters!

This class was a writing-intensive class. The class was boring and students are forced to talk for a participation grade! Participation/Discussion was worth 40% of the final grade. The TA is annoying when it comes to grading and takes forever!

Dr. Dahlquist is a great professor and shes really funny and nice. I have her for intro to interviewing and both of our interview projects have been great. Quizzes ask specific questions from text so make sure to read.

I enjoyed her class a lot. Get ready to take a lot of notes, every class. She makes the class very interesting. She is willing to help her students. Her tests are very hard and she does not post her powerpoints on Blackboard so if you don't go class you will miss A LOT of information. Her tests are very hard and long, so study !!!!!

A few tests, regular case study assessments. Tests really tough, if you are not a good test taker/quick writer this is not going to be the class for you. She has hilarious stories and is a really nice person, but she grades based on what she wants in an answer word for word. Test questions are taken from the textbook, wording hard to understand.

Dr. Dahlquist is an okay professor, makes you memorize DSM criteria for an essay on the exams. Most of the multiple choice questions are from the text so coming to class doesn't really matter. Most of her lectures turned into a therapy session for students to talk about their problems.

Very fair professor. She is willing to go above and beyond for her students, and she really knows her stuff. Easily one of the most caring, intelligent, and professional professors I've had. 10/10 would recommend.

Not the easiest professor, but her presentation of the material in class in addition to some independent study makes this course manageable. Has tons of experience in this field, so her stories make it easier to memorize disorders. Attendance isn't mandatory, but it's a good move to attend. Only uses Blackboard to post announcements and grades.

Everyone was making her sound like an amazing teacher but I wasn't very impressed, nice lady, way to much material to know on the test. She has good real life stories but even though my major aims to work with people with mental disorders, besides learning about disorders, class wasn't great.Wouldn't recommend her but she isnt terrible

This class is easy if you study. You must study from the book in order to pass. Attendance isn't mandatory, but she does mention things that aren't in the book that's on the test. Case studies are do-able if you memorized the criteria. All of the class points come 4 exams. Her questions are fair.

The class itself was interesting w/the amount of interest she showed in the subject&all the examples she gives in class, but exams are hard. The case studies are pretty straight forward, but the material on the exam is very detailed&specific. Some mult. choice questions were tricky where you eliminated it to 2 answers and it was hard to choose from.

Dahlquist is a great professor! She makes it very clear what you need to know and what she will test you on so there are so surprises. Her lectures are interesting with all the stories she shared - she definitely has a lot of knowledge about abnormal psychology. Be prepared to take a boatload of notes and study your butt off for her exams.

She is absolutely amazing. I got into grad school and I feel so prepared because of her. You definitely need to study and work hard. But nothing comes easy in life anyway. You do not need a DSMIV manual, just read your book!!!

Terrific Lecturer, always was able to keep the class engaged. She also offers good extra credit. Only problem was with my final grade she did a miscalculation and refused to believe that it was her fault. I earned a B but she refused to change it.My grade was never changed and I got C.

This class can be pretty hard, if you don't know what she wants you to learn. make sure that you get a copy of the quick reference DSM-IV. And study the disorders that she talks about in class. She is very kind to her students and was very polite about waking me up the one time i fell asleep in her class :)

She is a great professor and very clear on what you need to know. You MUST study for exam, You really need to know those cases. You can get by with skimming the book for information not covered in class. She is very clear and helpful on the subject. A great overall professor!

Excellent professor! She always relates the material to everyday life. The best thing is that she takes the time to let students discuss and ask questions. The bad part is that all the histrionic and otherwise personality-disordered ones ask all the questions. Highly recommend Dr. Dahlquist!
